Nice hotel practically on beach .

Posted May 22, 2017
Good hotel , Metro trains from South Shields provide regular, cheap transport to Newcastle and Sunderland plus more areas of the North east. Nice walks along coast along well developed paths.

Pros: Close to family in Shields ......the view from our room and great food. Asked for a quiet room and it was certainly delivered.
Cons: Bed mattress in RM 111 needs replacing, rather saggy.
Location: Nice walks along beach and cliffs Close to pubs and eating places

Lovely setting just next to the beach beautiful views, great helpful staff, food lovely breakfast was included and great choice. If there was negative points it would the towels, for 2 adults we had 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel could have done with another bath towel, overall it was really nice rooms were recently refurbished

Excellent location

Great place right on beach. Still issues with evening food. Small menu choice and rather too fancy . Chef continues to serve extreme al dente vegetables

Nice hotel, shame about prices of drinks

Posted Feb 27, 2017
Stayed over while at a party at the hotel. Friendly helpful staff on reception. Room had not been cleaned properly with remains of the previous guest's bombay mix still on the floor, signs that no hoovering had been done. The prices at the two bars where inconstant with each other and between different staff when buying repeat round of drinks. This was capped off by being charged nearly £4 for two half glasses of lemonade, which left a rather disappointing taste to what had been a good night with friends.

Relaxing location right on Tyne mouth

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: very friendly staff, great food, very comfortable rooms
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: watching ships go by! walking to the groyne and along the beach and its amazing sculptures and lighting Tyne and Wear metro and Shields Ferry
Very relaxing stay, watching ships enter Newcastle, and enjoying the very recently refurbished and zany seafront. Including mood lighting at night on sea front and very clever sculptures that are always interesting. Great location for trips out including £5 trip by ferry to great fish and chip restaurant.
