Our stay at The Blue Marlin Resort was well beyond our expectations! I have had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling in my life and this place is at the top of my list! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and can't wait for an opportunity to return! The island is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The service was second to none. Rosella, the owner is so personable and helpful. Sonya went above and beyond to make sure our every need and want was quickly met. From the chef (who made the most wonderful meals for us), to the waiter (Luis I believe was his name) and Stacy who does everything from scuba and snorkeling outings to massage made us feel like celebrities with the service they provided! If you are looking for a place to relax, disconnect from everyday stresses and connect with the people you love, then I can't recommend this place enough! The cabana hut on the beach was perfect! The food is great on and off the resort and all the staff is excellent. Good choice of activities on and off the resort. Close enough to town to walk or rent bikes or a golf cart or a taxi. The sand fleas were the worst but of course that cannot be helped. It is hot and very humid but if you can do activities near a water source as it was good to dip yourself or able to take a break in the shade and enjoy a cold beer :).…The cabana hut on the beach was perfect! SUN and SEA Beach House Nestled on its own Private Beach on the Caribbean Sea!

quiet, clean, safe location close to all you need. had literally everything we wanted.…

beautiful house with everything you would ever want or need. beach towels, dishes, laundry, beach, clean clear ocean to swim in, and a huge wrap around deck with hammocks to relax in. beds were a little stiff for me, but good. fresh air blew in off the ocean so we never needed to turn on the air conditioning. we were there in january. temps between 75 - 85 decrees. hopkins is a nice mix of small beach resorts and restaurants and local spots with the village, school, and library right there too. it's close enough to all the things you'd want to do in southern belize without traveling far. we toured che il chocolate farm and factory. there are several other cacao farms further south if you want to take a longer drive, but this one is close enough to do it in a couple hours. we visited Dangriga for the bank but were glad we stayed in hopkins. very relaxing village. Loved the beach and beach maintenance was continuous. The ocean breeze made it a dream to live without A/C. Birds and lizards to see on the property. Belize’s best fry jacks right there. Thanks Darlene ! One of the resort hands presented all the patrons with a real coconut with a straw to enjoy. A real Belizian treat as they grow everywhere but try to get into one. Jeanie provided a real personal touch as she made time to spend with us for a chat and even hooked us up with some local talent for snorkeling and fishing at a bargain. See you next winter Jasmin and Linden. You left quite an impression on us and your efforts were above and beyond. Most relaxing beach we have discovered. The western influence has not overrun Hopkins yet. If you want to experience real Belize and Garifuna culture don’t put it off.
