Good base for the races.

Posted Dec 21, 2015
Pros: Location, breakfast.
Cons: Ask for a room away from the front. The bar area is practically a nightclub, noise-wise.
Location: Close to the town centre.
Nicely placed, close to town (5 - 10 mins walk), and racecourse (20 mins walk, or easy bus trip).

Good location for race course

Posted Oct 26, 2015
Lovely hotel great location and nice food. Rooms lovely and clean and comfy. Only downside is the car park very small and manoeuvring is impossible when it's full we ended up paying at the ncp car park. This was even more of a sore point when I discovered several of the cars were staff vehicles.

Pros: location
Cons: room smelt of chip fat, not very good value. Good pastries for breakfast, however 'yorkshire breakfast' not very good, burnt black pudding, oily eggs
Location: close to Doncaster town centre / racecourse
2 nights in Doncaster for the races, good location but poor value

The hotel was great and really close to the town

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness. Close to town
Cons: Heating needs to be on!
Location: Great location for town centre.
Although the rooms were very comfortable the heating was not on and the room and bathroom was very cold.

Fantastic staff

Posted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: The service was excellent and the breakfast, which was filling, very well cooked and extremely good value. The price of our stay was great as well
Cons: Some of the fixtures were a little tired. But this is a fairly old building and you could tell that they have tried to modernise things and bring them
A group of us were in Doncaster for a club general meeting and evening do on Saturday 24th January 2015. We booked the Regent Hotel not knowing what it would be like. The staff there, especially the lady at reception, were absolutely fantastic. There was nothing they couldn't do for us. Our room was comfortable and clean.

Shabby unchic

Posted Dec 6, 2014
Staff wonderful, rooms shabby and uncared for. White towels were grey and stained. Can't open windows because of noise from heating generator and kitchen smells entering the room from other restaurants so bad you need to wash your clothes when you get home to get rid of the lingering odour.

Pros: The bar by the reception was cosy
Friendly reception, ate in the bar and food was good. Room was basic but clean. Breakfast was ok choice of fruit, yoghurt and cereals followed by a full English or whatever selection you wanted. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Quiet and room had lovely aspect over park

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: It's convenience.
Stayed one night for business. Hotel was very conveniently situated within walking distance of town whilst being set in a quiet square.
