"This apartment is nicer than my house! Haha. "
Came with my mum, neice, nanna & young baby daughter. We all found the apartment excellent boasting all the modern conveniences. Fab location for Paultons Park. Lots of amenities within a short distance. I would definitely stay here again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 10/10

"Good budget hotel in Portswood, Southampton"
Booked this hotel as it's the closest to The Brook music venue which is walking distance down Portswood road. I needed somewhere close to stay after a rock concert at The Brook. I booked a basic single room which included breakfast, room was small, but comfortable and enough for one night. This is a budget hotel with basic bed and breakfast facilities, so don't expect anything more. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but plenty of good restaurants and takeaways around the area down Portswood road and it's a short taxi ride or bus into the centre of Southampton. The ladies who worked at reception were friendly and I spoke to a few people I sat next to at breakfast who had stayed here before. Breakfast was a buffet, plenty on offer, but only served until 9.30am, so not much good if you want a lie-in after this time or you'll miss it. This is a prime student residential area, so can get noisy at night during term time, ask for a quiet room if possible if you're staying Friday or Saturday nights during university term time. Nearest train station is St. Denys, but there are regular buses from Southampton airport Parkway and Southampton Central. I would definitely stay here again, I also recommend good Thai restaurant Baan Mai just a few minutes walk away on Portswood road.

"Lovely clean room but mattress was old and lumpy"
Very easy to find but breakfast facilities non- existent. No Cafe nearby. Had basic kitchen facilities which you had to bring your own food to prepare in. Not ideal for busy families or business people. Staff was kind and offered some bread for the road.

"great area"
the hotel and amenities are wonderful. If you have a large suitcase there maybe an issue as it is a classic hotel an so the staircase is very small. other than that (which is part of why you choose this hotel) everything is excellent

Pocket Guide: Wickham Southampton Independent Hotels

Set on a broad inlet, Southampton is the largest city in southern England and cruise capital of Northern Europe. Some of the world’s largest liners are based here and many more visit regularly. The centre is modern but retains several historic buildings, two excellent art galleries, two theatres, plus good eating, drinking and shopping. Ocean Village leisure complex at the marina features a new museum of aviation.
