Can’t beat this place for the price

I stayed here because I was interviewing at UAB. The hotel itself is newly renovated with a beautiful lobby with a bar and Starbucks. The rooms are so spacious and the television is a smart tv (I got to watch my favorite Netflix series). The hotel staff is very accommodating. They are kind and friendly, and arranged for me to have a late checkout free of charge. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Birmingham.

Great staff, great room

Pros: Staff were all excellent.
Cons: It was absolutely right.
Location: We were just stopping over coming home from holidays, so I don’t really know about area.
We checked in a bit late. Woman at front desk super professional, good sense of humor, took my hubby’s banter in stride and teased back. Got to room and it was bliss. Nice comfy couch so we could watch TV without back strain. Wonderful shower, big enough for two. And, of course, a good bed and restful sleep. The fact that I got a price break from travel rewards was just icing on cake.

Whenever we visit Birmingham this is where we stay. The comfort and professionalism persuaded us to keep going back. The facility always appear clean

cleaning staff

first off the "do not disturb" sign means absolutely nothing to the cleaning staff as they bang and try to open your door early in the morning. then as they carry on conversations with each other from down the hall from each other.... seems like they were on different floors yelling to each other. rest of staff and the hotel itself was great. would've liked different scented soaps. but it got the job done.

Disappointed

I was very disappointed, the remodel of the hotel was very nice. When i entered my room it appeared to be very nice, however I later in the afternoon wanted to warm up my dinner from earlier and there was no microwave. I called the front desk, was told they don't have microwaves in the room. So no dinner for the night , I was to tired to go back out. Hours later I noticed we had less than a half roll of bathroom tissue and no iron. We decided to go down to the pool, started to step in and the water was 60 or below degrees. Tried to use phone that was attached on the wall, it did not work had to use my cell. 30 min later someone came in to say they would have the problem corrected in 10 min. We waited 1 hour still cold water. we headed down the next morning to get into the pool still cold water. The rate I paid $175.00 per night at this hotel compared to rates of 89.00 per night at other hotel suites I was very dissatisfied. I would not book a room here again. The location was great.

Inconsiderate, priorities wrong

We were treated horribly. As refugees from hurricane Irma we were given third class treatment because a college football team had stayed there the night before and had left later than check out time. My family and a lot of others were made to wait 5 extra hours for our rooms! This is unacceptable from a big name hotel. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Unexpected Stay

Pros: Loved the staff. Very friendly & accommodating.
Cons: I thought I left a few things once we left. The Lost/Found communication was HORRIBLE in call back, it took an ENTIRE week for a response.
Location: The Summit outdoor mall was absolutely fun.
My boyfriend & I were 2 Hurricane Irma evacuees and the hotel staff were so friendly and hospitable. At the front desk, Eve was so helpful in checking us in and directing us to comfortable areas while we waited for our room. There were several guests staying as "late" checkout as they had nowhere to go, yet trying to get new arrivals checked in. Eve did a wonderful job balancing things. Also, the young lady, Kashina, who worked the Coffee Bar, was a super delight to serve us. We loved her. Our overall stay was fabulous.

Newly renovated

Pros: overall the hotel was clean and had just been renovated.
Cons: The hallways needed to be vacuumed more regularly and it was easy to hear the people in the next room.
Location: close to shopping and restaurants
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good with a nice selection. Room service is available and was good.
