An older hotel in the heart of it all in Plymouth

Posted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: location - easy walking distance to Plymouth Rock and the ocean.
Cons: Entryway access
Location: Convenient walking distance to nearby attractions
The toughest thing about this hotel was getting in the front doors. They're not automatic, but rather small and it makes for a difficult transition while carrying luggage. The staff was friendly and nice. The indoor pool area is a bit over rated but OK if you have a couple of smaller kids.

Nice hotel with awesome restaurant

Posted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: comfortable, clean room and excellent restaurant
Location: Great location close to attractions
The John Carver Inn was centrally located close to site seeing attractions and main street shops and has a wonderful Hearth N Kettle Restaurant that served delicious food. Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel was well maintained and cared for with conference rooms for hosting events.

Will return

Nice and easy place to stay. My 8 and 10 year old girls loved the pool, room and restaurant. Not so great items were the WiFi signal was weak and no mo ies on demand. But great location and plenty to do.

Fair to middlen

Posted Jan 21, 2013
Pros: The front desk staff.
Cons: Lounge
Location: Location is excellant
Physical plant is dated and could use a good scrubbing. The rooms were clean but the floor in the lobby needs to be stripped - the wax build up is disconcerting: the hallway and stairway carpeting is a bit thread bare. The in-house resturaunt could use an upgrade. The lounge is supposed to be open until 11 but closed one night before 9, and another before 8:30 - not a big drinker but a night cap would have been nice!.

a tired old hotel

Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: expedia price, I would not have stayed otherwise
Cons: front line staff
Location: good, but not great
A little down at heel, a snooty staff, but the pool was good and the exercise room would have been good, if it had a water cooler.

Easy walk to sites in Plymouth

Posted Aug 12, 2012
Pros: How close it was to things we wanted to see. We parked the care and walked to everything.
Cons: The musty smell in the lobby.
Location: Very convenient.
The lobby of this hotel smells musty and moldy. It does not make a good first impression and you'd think they'd do something about it. The furniture in our room was a bit worn. Our room, however, was clean. We picked this place because it is easy to walk to restaurants and things to do in Plymouth, but less expensive than the options right on the harbor. It turned out to be a very good balance of value and convenience. It is not a destination hotel by any means, but it worked out fine as a convenient base of operations for our trip. If you're looking for a "spa" experience and planning to spend lots of time in the hotel, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to spend the night that's also convenient to the sites, this will do.
