Owner has put a lot of effort into upgrading the property over the past few years I've stayed here when visiting Southington. It's clean, comfortable and modern. Price is reasonable. Room amenities are all in working order too.
We have stayed at this Days Inn many times. This was the only time there were any problems. First the had to be pushed very hard to open. Seemed to be something stuck under the door. The off button on the lamp next to the bed didn’t work. Had to loosen the bulbs to turn it off. Lastly there was something wrong with the cable. The TV came on, listed the menu, but was unable to download programming. We were offered a new room but I was very tired. The problem weren’t too difficult to put up with. The desk clerk was very helpful trying to figure out what was wrong with the TV.
I’ve stayed here before with no issue but this time was ridiculous. Don’t see myself coming back. The shower was broken and only scalding water would come out. The handle was busted and the showerhead was messed up. Also a ceiling tile covered with mold. Toilet paper holder was busted. Overall I was disappointed, total waste of money. Talked to front desk and they had no interest in trying to accommodate, offer another night in a room without problems, or reimburse.
We have stayed at this hotel in the past. It is our halfway stop to/from visiting family in Maine. This trip I noticed the rooms had been upgraded. Very nice job!
We had arrived late after a 12 hr drive. We checked in and went to the room. We found a powder substance on the headboard square behind the pillows. The desk person changed our room. We noticed a lot of strange people staying there, hallways smelled like pot, our room door jammed so every time we exited the room you had to squat down and give 3 or 4 good pulls. We had a busy schedule and asked if they could fix the door. It was always when we had to go to keep our schedule. We didn't want anyone in the room unless were were there because of they type of people roaming around. I ended up pulling a muscle from trying to get out on the 3rd day. It was so bad I could hardly move my arm. We had to reschedule one of our commitments. That's when they finally fixed it. The plug in the bathroom sparked and the lights went out when I tried to use my blow dryer. Luckily I had an extention cord in my vehicle so I could use another plug outlet in the room to dry my hair. They offered to change the room again but we declined hoping to find another hotel which we were not able to. Breakfast was awful and there were some gross people picking through items so we went out to eat. The bed was old and saggy. While we were there a guests tires were stolen in the middle of the night. The list goes on. It was a terrible experience. We left early. The manager & staff did what they could. We blame the owner of the property! The outside got a facelift so it looked nice in the photos. Fix inside!!
This is a very clean hotel. I missed the coffee maker and the ice machine in the vestibule. There was not an elevator, but I was grateful to be on second floor so I dealt with stairs.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The breakfast was only just OK. I was expecting better quality choices. Bathroom was small, but the shower worked very well. The air-conditioning was a bit loud, but the room temp was comfortable.
WE HAVE STAYED HERE FOR YEARS DUE TO THE CONVENIENCE NOT ONLY ON THE LOCAL LEVEL BUT EASE OF GETTING TO THE AIRPORT IN A TIMELY MANNER.
iT'S ALWAYS A QUIET STAY AND THEY ARE ECOLOGICALLY FRIENDLY,
Pet friendly room had no carpet. Not the most quiet, I could hear there were people talking in an adjacent room, but could not make out what they were saying. Breakfast is basic, sausage, eggs, toast, coffee, cereal, other similar items.

At least the room was clean, a couple of cuts above Motel 6 in that Dept. I had to bring a couple of heavy suitcases up and down the stairs, an elevator would have definitely helped. The breakfast was the worst hotel breakfast I'd had that I could remember, a few pieces of bland lukewarm sausage, some rather nasty powdered eggs, and a couple of tiny pancakes, I couldn't finish it, I had to throw out the eggs. That's probably why I had only mild nausea and vertigo the next day. The coffee was weak and the juice machine had orange flavored water.
Biggest letdown staying at this Days Inn was the supposed “King size bed”. A standard king size bed is 80” in length, but the bed in my room was only 72” long. It feels like I’ve been ripped off.

Property was ok. I rented it for sleep.
Breakfast items ran out long before the end of breakfast period.
