I95 Business hotel or crash pad No breakfast incl

When we arrived we were given a handicapped room which we discovered entering the room. It was already 1:30am and we were at the other end of the hotel which is a very long walk away from the lobby, especially with heavy luggages. So we stayed put but we should have been told when checking in. Nothing in the Expedia deal description was saying it could be a handicapped room. The room was clean and this Holiday Inn is a good stop if you travel through Richmond and need a crash pad. Note that this is a 4 floors hotel with a strange floor plan. For some reasons the elevators are at the back of the lobby after a first corridor and the rooms corridor start from the elevator going in one direction only (usually the elevator is in the middle of the corridor) so if you are room X39, be ready to walk. Breakfast was not included in the room price which surprised me as I thought it usually is with Holiday Inn

Fine, but no cold water.

Everything was fine with this room, except that it had no cold water. Shower was blazing hot and so was water from the sink. Weird.

Not great

Room was not up to our clean standard cobweb hanging from ceiling. Had to kill roach in bthrm. Carpet looked stained, table top was sticky. Got room right across from ice machine so noisy. Also room size on small side Either Expedia gets certain rooms and that's why only paid 79$ for night ?

Great price for short drive into downtown RVA.

Great price and facility for HI. Front desk staff was wonderful. Beds are comfortable. Ten minute drive into RVA worth the savings on a downtown hotel. Free parking at hotel. Restaurant was "ok". No excuse for last call at the bar at 9:45 on on a late June Monday. Only complaint.

Charge deposit for no reason

Pros: Nothing,
Cons: Don't charge customers deposit like other hotels do.
Worst hotel experience ever, we booked 2 rooms there for 1 night stay and paid full price in advance. When we checked in at the hotel, they charged us deposit of 150 dollars for 2 rooms. The check in staff was an Indian woman who was really rude and saying" If you don't want to pay the deposit, you can cancel this one and book another hotel", we have kids with us and it was in the middle of night, which is not the worst part yet....after two months we checked out this hotel, we still haven't received our deposit back.

wouldn't go back

Pros: room was clean on arrival
Cons: maintenance, attitude, efficiency.
Location: industrial area- nothing nearby.
Room didn't get serviced on a Saturday when we were out all day. Went to the front desk to get it done- housekeeping staff were gone. Head of housekeeping came to desk and asked rudely if I had left the do not disturb hangar on the doorknob. I said no. She came to room and serviced room. Bathroom sink was stopped up. They fixed it after I asked. Service in attached restaurant is slooooow.

Don't stay here

Pros: nothing
Cons: manned front desk, honest answers to questions on the phone before check-in, honor reservations.
Location: nothing of interest, there is a Hampton Inn across the street and a Red Roof Inn around the corner, both would be better places to stay.
Called in advance if accept dogs, they said yes. Arrived at 2:00 am, no one was at the counter (anyone could just walk-in), took 10 minutes at least before anyone came to the front desk. We were denied check-in saying they do not accept pets. Also said they would not cancel the reservation. When disputed thru Expedia, the hotel GM lied to Expedia saying we never showed up for check-in and has yet to return funds. As a military veteran, up front and honest to a tee, this hotel is dishonest and not worthy of any visit or stay. Did I mention we saw a big roach running across the rug in the lobby when we were waiting for someone to come to the front desk?

Unchanged Linen

The bed was not clean. It was made but you could tell that the linen had not been changed from who every stayed in this room before we checked into this room. We Immediately returned to the front desk to inform the desk manager and she did not seem surprised at all. She radio the housekeeping dept. and advised that this room had not been cleaned and requested an update of availability of rooms. She also informed them that the room that was assigned to us needs to be cleaned again. This was the second time that I have checked into a Holiday Inn Hotel and the bed had not been changed for the previous person(s) that had booked the room. I made this known to the manager at our check out (there was two beds and we slept in the other bed because it was so late in the night.) They did not seem to care or was not concerned about our issue. The QUALITY in my opinion had diminished !
