Door wouldnt open to my room. After 4 attempts of walking back down to the front. I was able to get an engineer to join me. He taught me how to hit the door and jiggle it, then put my key in and it would work. Nothing like a work around for your hotel key. I will not be staying here again.

Dirty, poor experience

Posted Nov 14, 2017
This hotel from top to bottom was near universally a poor quality adventure. It is tough to delineate everything—all parts of the experience— that was poor but I will try. Firstly, the rooms are very dirty. This is to the point where I would not even be comfortable wearing my socks in the room for fear of getting my feet dirty from the carpet. The bathroom was probably OK but the general set up was something out of the 70s. More importantly, the walls are paper thin and in fact only separated by a pass-through door so you can hear everything the neighbor says. As an easy example, I could hear when the next-door neighbor was moving the shower curtain. The staff seemed friendly enough, but it is hard to describe how each and every part of the hotel building was outdated and dirty. Recommend not staying here.

Beautiful hotel, right near great restaurants

Posted Nov 13, 2017
My experience was pleasant. The room was spacious and the colors were inviting warm and bright, making it a joy to be in. The TV was a bit small but channel selections made up for it. The restroom was well kept. The entryway into the hotel is posh. You feel as though you've walked into elegance and high class. I've stayed here numerous times and would stay again.

Parking

Posted Oct 31, 2017
The only issue I have is about the parking. It’s $9 a day and no where did it say anything about that upon booking. The front desk person didn’t tell me about it either until I asked and complained about it and he told me to take it up with Expedia. I probably won’t stay there again because there are many hotels in houston that do not make you pay for parking when you’re already paying for their rooms.

World Series

Posted Oct 31, 2017
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast buffet should be priced right for the average food it serves. Just be honest with customers also.
Hotel smelled bad. Not too clean. My 7 year old asked why we were staying in a Motel instead of a hotel. But for only $150 a night for the World Series, I guess you get what you pay for. Front counter staff set us up with a ride to Minute Maid Park. Said it would be about $25 but definitely no more than $50 round trip. Driver pulls up late and asks for $40 one way. Valet guy says "It's the World Series, he's gotta get what he can cuz you won't be a repeat customer." No one likes to be bait and switched so we got another ride for $20 and tipped him $20. I'm not cheap and I understand that people need to make money but I just don't like dishonesty. Buffet breakfast was overpriced and offered the type of food you would get for free in a more reputable hotel chain. I just can't recommend this hotel.

Rude staff, expensive parking, expensive breakfast

Posted Oct 23, 2017
Rude staff all around, specially the hostess at the restaurant, she had a terrible attitude and no clue about customer service. Only one of our waiters was very accomodating and was great to deal wi th, the rest of the staff was horrible, from the front desk to the restaurant. My stay supposed to include free parking and free breakfast, but they will charge you 9.00 for self-parking per day, and will get you with saying it includes breakfast for adults only, but not the kids. Horrible stay, stay away!

Needs updated rooms

Posted Oct 19, 2017
Cons: Updater rooms, answer the phone for room service.
The hotel lobby is nice, the rooms need updating. The Microwave and fridge were a definite after thought. They were just sitting on a table in there with a tiny coffee pot on top. The carpet was very stained and the hall carpet smelled like cigarettes. The room service never answered the phone with I called and I had to end up going downstairs to the restaurant to place an order. The check in was very slow. The best part of this whole stay was the Valet guys. Attentive, quick and everything was right.
