Excellent view... not so excellent stayPosted Sep 21, 2015
The Pros: Beautiful view Very accommodating and polite staff Free fresh cookies are given to you upon check in Extremely comfortable bed with down comforter & pillows Walking distance to the beach Very close to many good restaurants & stores The Cons: Unfortunately, we were unlucky enough to stay during the non-peak season when the hotel was conducting renovations. Needless to say, there was construction noise early in the morning. Closest stairway/fire escape to our room was sealed off due to construction Some parking was inaccessible due to said construction Pool deck was cluttered & beach access was further away (also due to construction) No ice machine on each floor, only on the even numbered floors Some of the couch cushions had stains The water from the shower delayed in heating up We stayed for 3 nights, and overall, it was very enjoyable despite the said Cons.

Ants!!!Posted Sep 16, 2015
We are in a Hilton hotel and one expects a certain standard to be set. What a disappointment this location is. The weekend desks taffeta was not helpful at all. We asked the front desk if they clean the rooms on Sundays because it was late in the day. She acted like they normally don't but we could request this service. I think we're charged for this as well.

Disappointing but nice viewPosted Sep 9, 2015
Pros: The balcony was great- spacious enough for several adults to take in the beautiful view, but the AC shuts off when the balcony door is opened.
Location: Great location and lots of good restaurants and amenities.
I am convinced that this property used to be a motel and DoubleTree renovated it and added the cookies at the front desk. We were GREATLY disappointed by the outside entrance to the rooms. From the first night our room keys wouldn't open the door, we were given (2) replacements both days until they finally realized the card reader didn't work. On our 2nd day the maintenance worker explained that he'd have to replace the card reader and begin the process. Room: The rooms were clean but a lot smaller than expected. There was a very strange, loud and eerie gurgling sound from the sink that woke us up several times during the evening. Because the room was right next to the restroom without any walls dividing the two it was disturbing. The bathroom is TINY! Staffing: On our last morning the cleaning staff knocked on the door to clean, we let them know that we were checking out so we didn’t need their service. They returned again, knocking loudly. We asked who it was… no response. We looked through the cracked peep hole and again repeated that we didn’t need the services since we were leaving soon. Still continued to knock until we opened the door to repeat the same message.

city and ocean viewPosted Sep 2, 2015
Pros: great ocean view and inter coastal view
Cons: pool was open but had to detour to the beach due to construction
Location: Bizzaro New York style pizza nearby Cocoa Beach pier 30 minutes away
Adrianna was helpful with our early arrival. She offered us "cookies of course" and pointed out we are welcome to use the pool or go the beach and towels are available We ventured up to cocoa beach pier but she called when our room was available and was just very pleasant.at both check in and check out.

Under going constructionPosted Aug 27, 2015
Construction by the pool deck so theres no direct access to the beach. Had to walk the parking lot and go down on a makeshift ramp. Other than that, the staff are wonderful and pleasant. Very helpful. I like the unlimited access to pool/beach towels. Even the beach rental people were really nice.

The view was the best part.Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: We liked how close the hotel was to the beach.
Cons: Forewarn your patrons that the back deck is closed, and inform them about hidden fees up front. Fix your breakfast buffet.Food was burnt and old.
Location: Right on the beach, lots of things to see, and lots of places to eat. Brevard Zoo is very closeby!
My family and I arrived at the Double Tree resort in Melbourne, FL and checked into the hotel Friday evening. I right away noticed a sign at the front desk that the beach access was closed due to renovations at the hotel. The person behind the front desk asked if I was driving and I said yes, and she asked for my ID and credit card. I handed it to her and she had me sign a parking form. The check-in process went smoothly otherwise and we received our room keys(keycards) and proceeded up to our room. When we arrived at our room, we noticed how comfortable the room itself felt. For my family and I comfort is of the utmost importance. We did however notice that the floor was wet and notified the front desk. They told us they would take care of it tomorrow or move us into a new room. We went out for the day and came back tired from our trip to the zoo and noticed a strange smell. The floor was still wet and now the room smelled of mildew. We notified the front desk again and they offered to put in dryers and fans to dry it out we would have to leave the room for a couple hours during the process. We declined the offer because we would be departing tomorrow but we had also checked our bank accounts. We noticed a hidden charge on our bank accounts that I was never informed upon during checkin that they place upon your card. I was more upset that they took the money and no one bothered to tell me about it. They fixed the situation by offering us free breakfast the next morning.

Best deal on this beach but under renovationPosted Aug 23, 2015
Cons: tell people about renovation and adjust price accordingly
Location: beach is the one thing, fishing in the surf!
Under renovation fact not flagged in description nor in the price. Surprise! Need to walk around an empty lot to get to the beach!!

Great hotel, great staffPosted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: It's clean, comfortable, and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable people.
Cons: Honestly, not much. The temperature in the rooms could only be lowered to 72 degrees- we prefer cooler temps for sleeping.
Location: It's on the ocean, less than a mile to downtown Melbourne. There is surprisingly good dining, lots of good shops, and a few tourist shops.
We had a travel delay, and the hotel staff was very helpful- they gave our son a key to get in the room before we got there, so he wasn't waiting for us to get there to check in. They went beyond polite professionalism, and were genuinely friendly and accommodating. It was a huge relief to know the hotel part of the trip was easy and extremely satisfying. We've stayed there two times, and will return.
