Good for a short stay

Posted Sep 5, 2016
Pros: Convenient location, modern facilities and comfort, easy drive to nearby sights
Cons: Restaurant opening times
Location: An Grianan hilltop fort, coastal scenery and many other sites of interest, short drives to Londonderry, Letterkenny, Glenveigh National Park
This is a modern hotel in the countryside and adjacent to a main highway. Very convenient location for local sight-seeing trips. Rooms are typical 4-star. Ours was well away from the traffic noise, but no view. The formal restaurant is only open on weekends, even in high season, but good bar food is always available, and traditional pubs are only a short drive away.

Convenient yet quiet

Posted May 7, 2016
Pros: It had the best of both worlds in offering all the creature comforts without overshadowing the centuries of history in the area
Cons: The weather!
Location: The location was quite central while close to ancient very well preserved structures and an easily accessible bird sanctuary
The hotel and surrounding area offered all modern amenities while being steeped in history and had beautiful countryside environ

Festive night away

Posted Dec 30, 2015 on Ebookers
I stayed for one night at An Grianan Hotel with my wife and four children (all over 15). An Grianan is an excellent hotel. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is very nice and the food is very good and well priced.

We had a very enjoyable stay and as there were three of us we had sufficient room space. The only negative comment the bed was very hard and pillows not very comfortable.
