Great Northern Ireland escape

Posted Nov 3, 2016 on Hotels
Had a very comfortable stopover during a road trip around beautiful Ireland. The hotel is remote enough to offer a quiet escape, yet close enough to nearby Derry for access to the amenities of a more robust town.

Good for a short stay

Posted Sep 5, 2016
Pros: Convenient location, modern facilities and comfort, easy drive to nearby sights
Cons: Restaurant opening times
Location: An Grianan hilltop fort, coastal scenery and many other sites of interest, short drives to Londonderry, Letterkenny, Glenveigh National Park
This is a modern hotel in the countryside and adjacent to a main highway. Very convenient location for local sight-seeing trips. Rooms are typical 4-star. Ours was well away from the traffic noise, but no view. The formal restaurant is only open on weekends, even in high season, but good bar food is always available, and traditional pubs are only a short drive away.
