You get what you pay for

Posted Jan 15, 2018
My husband and I booked this hotel for a littlw getaway with our e year old. We got the room for $69 a night, it was probably worth that but nothing more. Hallways and stairs smell, carpet in rooms are lumpy, and rooms are not soundproof. Between the uncomfortable beds and hearing room doors slamming, and people stomping through the halls we sure didnt sleep well. They updated the wifi on Saturday so it was out for most of our stay. Continental breakfast was pretty sad. Website fails to tell you the pool is located in a different building which probably would have made me book a different hotel. Oh and the shower head is placed so low you have to bend right over to get the top of your head. We were excited to come home and catch up on our sleep!

Thank you for choosing the Super 8. We are in the middle renovating many of the issues you had. For example we just replaced the hallway carpet on all floors. In the rooms we replaced those low shower heads with taller ones. We took out the old lounge chairs in all the rooms. Next time your in town please let us know and you could come in an view the changes. Hope we can win you back again.

For the price...

Posted Jan 10, 2018
Took granddaughters for pool use. Clean and warm, hot tub clean and hot. Staff very nice. Rooms clean. Building is old and needs a major overhaul. That being said my room was 60 bucks, well worth it.

Thank you for choosing Super 8. Glad you could enjoy the hot tub. We are currently changing out hallway carpets to a new modern look. Also a few room enhancements such as chairs, shower heads, head boards. Some of our rooms we have put in new vinyl plank flooring. Hope you can visit again soon.

Better than I expected

Posted Dec 20, 2017
I chose this hotel for its price (very inexpensive), its location (not near downtown), and its free breakfast (waffle maker). Based on reviews, it was rated 3.5 stars so it seemed okay. I did not have high expectations and I only needed a place to sleep. The hotel was better than I expected, the staff was super friendly, my non-smoking room was really clean and comfortable, and breakfast had waffles and biscuits with really tasty gravy. Walking down the first floor hallway you can smell cigarette smoke, so that must be where the smoking rooms are. The second floor where my room was smelled fine. The carpet needs replacing in the hallways and the walls need painted, but cosmetic things like that don't bother me, this is not the Hilton. Overall, I felt safe and I would stay here again because it was great value for the price I paid.

It nice to hear you were pleasantly surprised. We work hard on providing a clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price. The hallway carpet is on schedule to be replaced this December. We also added lounge chairs, tall shower heads and head boards to our rooms. We hope you can visit us again.

Posted Dec 19, 2017
Cons: Some one needs to check up more on the daily cleaning
Location: Very easy to get to. Museums are close, shopping is close
check in was easy. The staff are very friendly, and provided an iron and board for our use.

Close to freeway and assortment of food services.

Posted Dec 8, 2017
Exceptionally quiet being so close the interstate. Easy access lots of parking. Queen and king size beds I feel should have at least four pillows for additional comfort. Great mid week getaway.

Wow and Ouch!

Posted Nov 26, 2017
Pros: The staff was first rate and the continental breakfast was okay.
Cons: Rooms should be in proper working order and not have a broken lamp and bathroom fan. The some smell could and did gag me a lot.
Location: A nice Denny's in case you want descent eats and O'riely's auto parts store close in case you need something for your vehicle.
The wow factor was I got a good deal. The ouch factor was the place lived up to its cheapness. The Super 8 staff as nice and courteous and the continental breakfast was okay and that is were the niceness of the place stopped. Off to the wrong stuff now. The bathroom fan did not work, the table lamp did not work either. The heater for the room was not very sensitive either but I did manage to find a temperature I could live with. The room smelled of smoke even though I was in the non-smoking section. To get to my room I had to go through part of the smoking section and that nice blue haze in the air. Finally, the worse part was the Wi-Fi sucked. The Wi-Fi was so bad that if I wanted to do anything on my phone or laptop I went to McDonald's and used their Wi-Fi. Definitely not a place I would recommend. A minor irritating thing was the pool and hot-tub were located across the parking lot in a different motel. So much for a nice swim and relaxing in the hot-tub.

Cleanliness and overall condition was terrible!

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Tried theee different room trying to find one where the carpet wasn’t filthy and the room was clean. Gave up after three rooms. Carpet was so dirty that I didn’t even want to remove my shoes. Hallway carpet was filthy everywhere. Hallways smelled of strongly of marijuana and I could smell it in my room as well. I have never had such a terrible experience with a hotel stay! To make matters worse, my reservation was for two nights! I called Expedia with the complaint and then checked out at 1am and went looking for another place to stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone!! Beware!! Expedia handled the situation very admirably.
