wouldn't recommend it!

The bed was uncomfortable and the room was really small. I would recommend spending a few extra dollars to be comfortable. Thumbs down.

Inaccessible and unhelpful stuff

Posted May 16, 2017
I had a bad experience from the beginning. We were supposed to have a handicap accessible room because my boyfriend is in a wheel chair. This was specified in our reservation and in our confirmation. We show up and don't have a handicap room and are told there are none available. We would have switched to a different hotel except we didn't have time to find one and most of the hotels in the city were booked for the weekend because every high school in the area was having graduation. My boyfriend couldn't get around the room in his chair and was unable to use the bathroom so he had to use the ice bucket as a urinal. To top it off the reservation was held with my debit card but when we show up we're told to use a debit card you have to pay a deposit so I switched to my credit card. Upon checking out I notice that my debit card was charged twice, but credit once, and they also charged my credit card. When I asked about it they told me there was no possible way for that to happen. And yet I look at my accounts and it very plainly states the charges were from Microtel. So now I've paid twice for a room that was awful and barely usable to us. The staff seemed unsure of how to handle things and had a hard time doing things like checking first in and out. And when I was checking in the manager was arguing on the phone with a guest who didn't get their deposit back and he was rude telling him that he didn't know what the guy expected him to do because he couldn't do anything for him.

The rooms are the size of postage stamps. I thought I was on cruise ship because of the tiny rooms. The decor is from the 70's. On the plus side, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was limited but decent.
