So I booked this on a whim. Was staying in Springfield for business for one night. The first room I was given was not clean. Stuff on the doors, rug and the bathroom cabinets. It was pretty bad, and I'm a bachelor. I mentioned this to Timothy, who was working the hotel bar, and he quickly hooked me up with an upgrade to one of their Jacuzzi suites. This room was much cleaner. Comfortable bed. Huge hot tub in a separate room with a big TV. It was like a completely different place. The bar/diner was good. I had the complimentary breakfast, which is prepared to order. The Route 66 stuff in the hall is interesting. Front desk staff was friendly. Hotel property itself is.... interesting. Carpet in the halls has seen better days. Speaking of, the rooms all open to a hall along the exterior of the building. And there are full-length window glass where there isn't a door. The rooms have no proper windows to the outdoors, so I guess that they were trying to get in some natural light, but that was a real choice. I'd stay again in the suite for the right price.

Smells like smoke everywhere, there was no hot water, I paid 250 for the room AND was required to give them 100$ CASH to hold at the front desk and then I had to wait in the lobby while they inspected the room before I could get my 100$ back.

We apologize that you didn't enjoy your stay and we are working on fixing the issue with the smoke smell (that's why we take the deposit) as for the hot water, when filling the tub you need to make sure the water (hot) is at the temp you want the tub to be at when filling it. we have PLENTY of hot water to accommodate the hotel.

It wasn't the Ritz Carlton but the staff made it worth it to stay there they were all very friendly and helpful with anything that I wanted or needed.

Unique hotel
Absolute wonderful stay! I booked this room because of the jacuzzi suite. I ended up getting the cheaper suite to save a little money, but when we got there, we got a nice little Christmas surprise! They upgraded our suite to the executive suite, free of charge. It was clean, quiet, and the tub was absolutely magnificent (it lights up and even connects to your phone via Bluetooth so you can listen to music). I have never seen a tub so large and tech savy! In the tub room, they have a smart TV so you can enjoy your favorite show/movie while soaking. The bed was very comfortable also! They have a slot room, and at the front desk, they have alcoholic drinks, sodas, juice, and even scratch offs! They also have classic cars, machines, gas pumps, etc. to look at in the lobby. This is a very unique hotel, and I’ll definitely be returning. I do encourage others to go and get that executive suite at least once!

Randy at the front desk, awesome! Helped me 3x with things I came to her for. This place is not for the faint of heart however, there was the ever present smell of marijuana outside, and the smell of a smoky old hotel on the inside. My room #105 was really cute, but the sheets were not washed, there was (hoping potato chip?) oil on them. The bathroom was spotless, I did find a hair in the shower, but that is an easy mistake to make. There was a heater/cooler/fan combo on the wall, loved it! The tv had cable, I ordered Door Dash, and for the price, my dog and I were satisfied and comfortable. I read reviews that mentioned bugs, but I looked and saw absolutely none. Because of the price, pet friendly and cute room, I think I would stay here again, but I don't think your executive highly coiffed Aunt Karen would want to.

The dirtiest hotel I have ever been to. The entire place reeked of cigarettes. The blankets had burn holes in them, the room had crumbs on the floor from the last patrons stay, almost every surface was sticky, their were stains of something dripping down the walls, unwashed stains on the blankets, the doors for the bathroom were so ungodly dirty, there were 2 chairs in the room that had at least 50 years of cigarette stains on them, pretty much anything that could go wrong was wrong. In the end they were nice enough to give us our money back, so I do appreciate that.

From the frist sight i said i want to stay there!!!! I love every thing above route 66. It has so much Memorabilia of Route 66. It's worth a stop. You believe you're not gonna stay overnight. They've got the best food ever in their restaurant breakfast. You order what you want at the menu we ordered stink eggs, hash Browns, toast and I ordered a side of French toast it was all free. I asked if they had the tee shirt to buy like the owner had on. There were some on display but that was it. After we finished checking in and having a great conversation he said take the tee shirt off the mannequin. I was so thankful and greatful. Then he gave me the Sweatshirt off the other mannequin!!! It was so overwhelming so kind and giving!!! I give Route 66 a 10 I will recommen It to everyone Im putting it on Facebook and going to tell all my family and friends!!! Thank you so much for all the wonderful time!!! Greatfully Gratefully Thankful Scoop And Patty and Maintenance man who is so fun to listen to he has so much knowledge he should go on Jeopardy!!! (He would definitely win 🏆!!! It felt like home right away. Thank you God for such a wonderful experience there. I didn't want to leave!!! Springfield Illinois Route 66 MUST MUST STAY!!! Tell everybody you know they wont regret it!!! Thanks for the wonderful time. P.S. The Maintenance man even delivered some items to us at midnight. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

The staff was friendly and nice. The room had a musty type smell and it smelled like marijuana in the entire hotel. Walls were very thin, we could hear the people next door talking. Paint was coming off of the walls. Furniture appeared dated and cheaply upkept. It was fine for a night as we were traveling and just needed a place to sleep and was cheap. Did not seem like a 3 star hotel, more like 2 stars. Not tall person friendly, sink was very low and my 6'4" husband had to basically sit down to wash his hair in the shower. Probably won't stay here again.

The staff wasnt bad but it seemed like the further you get in the place the worse it got. My room had a weird smell, almost like when you wash dirty sports equipment and it still smells funky. Theres a bunch of weird guys who hangout and hit you up for cigarettes everytime you go outside. I guess it was fine for the few days I was working in Springfield but wont stay there again.

We had a good time here. The room and the hotel are quirky and interesting - exactly what you want on Route 66. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food in the diner was good for both the evening and the breakfast. We would stay here again.

Not very clean so outdated furnishings could do with getting binned sheets on the bed were grey and unironed the quilt cover and pillow cases looked so used the whole place needs revamping noisy doors opening and closing all night walls very thin you can hear everything booked for a couple to stay but told only one of us could have the included breakfast??? Anyway neither of us had breakfast we couldn't wait to leave just not a very nice place to stay
