A nice experiencePosted Oct 21, 2011
Location: A nice city with a very long pedestrianised shopping street However there are very few, a or at least what we could find, of sandwich type shops with seats to have a mid morning coffee and a bit to eat. We finished up using MacDonalds which appeared to be the only one of that sort available. There also appear to be no public toilets anywhere in the city!!
The hotel is conveniently situated adjacent to Lodz Fabryczna station (although this is now closed for 4/5 years for refurbishment) and five tram routes. The hotel dates from the communist era and is at first glance a bit dismal but the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant atmosphere is rather basic but with tasty food and very good portions. Breakfast however could be a little more adventurous. Our room was clean, pleasant and warm, a little too warm in fact. It could do with a little brightening up but if asked 'Would I stay there again' then the answer would be 'Yes!'

Total DumpPosted Jan 16, 2010
My room had stained sheets, damp carpet and a terrible stench. It also looked as if water bottles had been refilled. I would not stay here again and am leaving a day early to visit my next town. In future I will try Ibis or Qubus.
