We enjoyed our stay at the smugglers notch inn. The owners were very nice and the breakfast was made to order and fresh. Very convenient to smugglers notch. This is not a fancy inn by any means, it is rustic and full of character. It was quite comfortable and has all of the amenities we needed. We will return if we find ourselves skiing in the area again.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Smuggler's Notch Inn. We had a little snafu with some furniture in our room and the innkeepers were quick to respond and eager to make it right. The included cooked-to-order breakfast was delicious and they were helpful with places to visit in Burlington. There is a general store with beer and wine and country gits (handmade pottery, magnets, hats, tshirts, etc), and a convenience store/market a 1 minute walk from the inn. Attached is a really cute, but well sized restaurant and pub with great food. It was a great place to ret our heads for a relaxing weekend away. We will be back!

The inn was extremely cozy, comforting. An old world charm. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room very clean. Loved the gas fireplace, couches, rocking chairs to hang out at night and chat. Breakfast was delicious and the tavern food amazing! Shout out to the chef. A busy night and our meals were spot on, cooked to perfection and so tasty. Thankyou for making our stay enjoyable!

Great stay
The smuggler's notch inn was such a cozy place to stay. The room and beds were very comfortable. We had an amazing time there. We will definitely be going back if we find ourselves in that neck of the woods again. Thank you for a great stay. The breakfast in the morning was amazing too.

As a fan of history, I loved being in an authentic inn. From the wavy floors and pine wood I felt like I went back in time. The room was clean and cozy and the lobby is a great place to hang out.

Smuggler’s Notch Inn is the Top Notch Inn! Classically historic yet has all the modern amenities. The pictures don’t lie. Breakfast is ordered from a menu, not just a continental buffet… and is delicious! No problem for us but note that rooms are upstairs without an elevator.

So disappointed
Having read other reviews, I was really disappointed with our stay. I know the building is 200 years old but that is no reason not to clean it properly or repair large holes in the walls or floors. The bedding, towels and supplies were excellent, it’s just a shame they don’t have proper cleaning staff

This place is very nice, with friendly staff. Breakfast prepared by the owners to your liking. The rooms are very clean. This is a busy weekend for Vermonters where people travels from all over to see the leaves 🍂 changing. I ended up with an electric rental car where I had a hard time finding a charging station. There was one within 2 miles of the property but was not working. If you plan on coming to Vermont, plan ahead to get regular car. It's very rural. Otherwise, great experience. My trip wasn't planned due to a medical emergency. My son had while attending Norwich University.

This was good for us as we were only staying one night. The staff were very nice and accommodating.The room we stayed in was comfortable and the continental breakfast was good. It was a very unique old quaint place to stay at in Vermont.

Small establishment, 12 rooms. Clean, bathtub didnt, work very friendly staff. Not a lot around to do but good as a stop over. Attached restaurant a bit pricey for pub food but very tasty.

Overall a nice stay. We were a bit disappointed upon arrival having spent over $200 a nite but ended up with friendly people, comfy (firm) mattress and yummy breakfast. The inn is very old and a bit run down. There was no bar on site but was one right next door. (Only place in town to eat/drink). We just feel the pictures didn’t represent what you get. Nice for a quiet getaway but maybe at half the price.

A definite repeat when I return.
This is a great local inn. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to this city. I love the history behind it. It is very updated and comfortable.

It was a nice historical Inn on the national historic record. The Inn showed it history and still has it's original wide floor boards. The Inn is set up like a bed and breakfast. Room was good for our needs. We had a choice of breakfast prepared for the time that we ask for and was served on time. We choose the Inn as it was central to the travel routes of the places we wanted to go for the two days that we were their. We would go again.

The 2 queen beds room is spacious and clean but I was annoyed with few black flies in the washroom. The floor was creaking everywhere I go. Rustic charm I suppose. The host is great. They made a choose-to-order breakfast for us!
