It was under construction and some of the reasons we went were closed. Also could not get the tv to work and call front desk who also could not get it to work.the manager was to give a discount which we never received. They also charged extra on my bill.

Although they were under construction for renovations, the staff went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience possible. The front desk manager, I believe her name was Rhonda, checked us in and went above and beyond to make sure we liked our room option, had towels and even rounded up some beach chairs for us. I can’t wait to visit again after all the renovations are complete. This place will be a gem!

Castillo Real feels like being in Mexico! The location is great, the beach is close and wonderful restaurants very close by. I was disappointed that the work out area and the hot tub were closed ‘due to construction’ but the construction was going on somewhere completely different in the hotel. When everything is in working order, I know this hotel a gem!

When we arrived the toilet seat was completely broken off. The lamp which was the only light source in the bathroom was also broken. The next day we left early and returned to all of the water being completely out. While trying to sleep that night a giant cockroach walked into our room and we had to kill it.

They are renovating, But due to that the floors were dirty from the renovations and not fully cleaned. They removed all the hot tubs and claimed their website reflected it and it didn't. The shower was terrible.No pressure or hot water at all. If I knew what I knew I would have got a cheaper room and saved money or when elsewhere.

Cool place. They are making renovations so some of the landscaping was not finished, and some features were not available.Limited parking, but it is a cool spot. I would stay there again for sure. Very nice staff!

My room had a damaged mini fridge. Front desk told me I would get a refund for it at the end of the stay. When I did the check out they told me that because I used Expedia to book the room, they couldn’t do the refund. Also, the AC in the room wouldn’t work properly. If you ask for towels, they won’t give it to you. In general, I would not come back.

Very low water pressure in the shower and water never really got hot. Also, I had to go to the front desk for fresh towels because they “no longer offer towel service.” They appear to be updating the rooms, but the quality of the updates seemed cheap. The room felt like a mostly empty space with a bed thrown into it. I have been staying at this hotel for years and it always felt cozy and luxurious. Now it just feels like a below average chain hotel.

Darren and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. We had special needs this particular stay and they accommodated us. The entire staff greets you and asks how they can help you. The room was spacious and very clean, bed was so comfortable The grounds are impeccable and hot tub and pool were so enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Our stay was such a disappointment that we ended up checking out early and switching to another hotel. We stayed at the Castillo Real Resort Hotel in mid-March 2024. They have been renovating and it seems like our room had just been renovated. There was drywall dust in the corners, caulk marks in the shower, and the furniture looked like it had just been placed in there to fill the room so they could furnish it last-minute. I booked the hotel specifically because of the jacuzzi tub, and it turns out they removed all of them during the renovations. There was also no hot water in the shower and no proper lighting in the bathroom. There were no hooks for towels or hand towels in the bathroom. There was no shelf in the shower to hold bottles, so my shampoo and conditioner had to go on the floor. There was one robe for a king-size bed room. The whole experience just kind of sucked. We've never switched hotels mid-trip before but we just couldn't stay. The hotel is definitely not ready to host people mid-renovation and it looks like they went the cheap route for everything. The cleaning ladies and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent - just a two minute walk to the beach - but those are all the positives. Hopefully they'll get it together after the renovations are over but we did not enjoy our stay.

Check in experience was unacceptable. Arrived early and was given parking lot pass. Was told to come back at 3 pm for check in . Room still was not ready at stated check in time. Kept getting excuses as to why room was not ready( new personnel, taking longer than expected). Poor customer service. No hair dryer in room, had to request next day. Asked for additional towels, was only given two for three people because that was all that was available. Would not compensate for anything because booking was through a third party. Would not stay again.

My only complaint was we were told the pool was heated, however it wasn’t. It was freezing, no one went in it the whole time we were there.

Beautiful property, close to the beach and they do have a nice pool area. I loved being able to get up in the morning and walk 50 feet to the beach haha was awesome. The staff was super friendly and even though my AC wasn't working it was still a pleasure to stay here

We enjoyed our stay. Rooms were very clean and very quiet. A lot of the facilities were not open due to construction. We did not hear anything from the construction. Just amenities were not available and parking can be tricky due to construction equipment. Staff were very friendly and once in room we didn’t hear a peep.

Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is under some pretty major renovations, but that didn’t affect us too much. Other than the gym/spa being closed. Only downsides were that the hot tub was not working properly, and the couch in our room smelled like pee. But all that being said, we would definitely stay there again!

Property was under construction but staff was very transparent about that. Parking is a challenge but luckily we got the last space in the overflow lot. Overall great value for money in a great location
