Warm. Friendly. Inviting. Historic. Even surreal and transcendent. There's an overwhelming sense of historic immersion whilst visiting the beautiful city of St Augustine and as you walk along the cobblestone-laiden narrow street approaching the St Francis Inn, being invitingly hugged by the shade provided by ancient trees adorned with Spanish moss, reaching down to greet you, you already know you're in for a treat.
We were treated very well, not just by staff, but by patrons as well. Being my first experience staying at a historic bed and breakfast, there was a lovely sense of community and sharing, whether it was a beer or a touching story, you're there, together. The experience surpassed my expectations. Constant states of wonder, adventure, and romance leave you wanting more. I could ramble on about our room, the slew of amenities, the food, the bedsheets, but I won't. For me, it was the opportunity for a deep, connective reset. To almost have the lines between what once was and what now is, blurred. The St Francis Inn provides far more than a place to sleep and a free cookie. It provides an experience that, if you allow it to, enriches your very soul.
