The resort is beautiful and nicely maintained. Service was good as long as you didn’t ask for anything out of the ordinary. There were some staff who really had a poor attitude - felt almost as though they were doing you a favor. On the positive side there were some staff who were warm, friendly and highly service oriented . A mix. Lovely beaches.

We enjoyed our time here. The beaches were beautiful, and the food was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly from check-in to checkout. There are many adventurous things onsite and close-by while other areas are tranquil. We hope to stay here again soon!

At check in we were upgraded because we came there for our 36th anniversary. The staff for front desk to wait staff to cleaners and everyone else we had any contact with, was super friendly and helpful. We were very pleased by our whole experience there.

The aged, damaged furniture. Grass not cut. TV that was 15 years old with static like watching tv from 1970. If we had paid $100 per night for this room it would be expected, but this hotel was outrageously expensive. Inexcusable. They should be embarrassed to rate this property 5 stars. The only redeemable quality is the employees. Even the buffet breakfast was 3 rate

Staff were all exceptional, pleasant and hospitable. All areas, including the room, were kept very clean. Although the food choices are limited, the food that was available was very good quality. The beach is amazing and is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking or just relaxing in the sun. I would definitely recommend the resort and hope to be returning in the near future.

We really wanted to love the Buccaneer Resort but there were a lot of shortcomings. It is in the perfect location surrounded by two beautiful beaches and a short ride from Christiansted and amazing dining options, but as a resort it falls short in many places. The room was outdated and the AC and several things in the room didn’t work or were broken. When we reported this to the concierge they did not offer another room for the remainder of the stay and we were thanked for bringing it to their attention but told that it would be fixed after we left. We went during the slow season , which understandably you expect things to be a bit more relaxed. We had dinner reservations at the Mermaid and were ignored and our food came out an hour after we ordered it cold. The bar on the beach redeemed the resort with amazing bartenders who gave us recommendations of places to eat, and had the best sushi we had on the island. For the price of the resort the rooms were outdated and not well cleaned, we found a roach in our bathroom. The spa staff however was amazing and gave both my husband and I a great massage and provided us with tips on how to reduce the stress on our necks and backs. We will definitely come back to visit the two beaches but likely will not stay here again.

Came at the quiet time, few people, little entertainment. Resort is big with multiple different areas you could book, with distance to walk, although they do pick you up and will drive you to your destinations. Initially was disappointed, but was able to get upgraded close to beach and that made a world of difference. We enjoyed the beautiful beach and the quiet, and are pleased with our stay. Management did accommodate our needs, so we were very grateful and do recommend this place.

I loved the place. Beautifully maintained. Service was number 1. My only suggestion is that they run shuttles back and forth to the beach. If your staying at the main hotel I found the walk a bit challenging.

Best Resort on St. Croix
This is the third time that I have visited St. Croix and stayed at the Buccaneer. The resort it meticulously kept up, the beaches are beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. I have stayed in 3 different types of rooms at the Buccaneer, and they all have been nice. Daily breakfasts on the veranda are delicious, and the view cannot be beat.

I booked on Expedia 11/09/22 for $2,053 for 3 nights. I had the confirmation email, showed them it and they still charged me $2,441. They said it was canceled and rebooked on Expedia for the higher price on the same day. I have no emails regarding a cancellation or a rebooking and it makes zero sense why I would rebook my trip for $400 MORE on the same day. Had to pay it and not happy about it. Especially after $300 for dinner the first night and $250 the second night, $15 drinks the entire time…we spent plenty of money there trying to keep our kids fed with no snacks on the property. ($27 with tip for every order of wings). I wouldn’t recommend bringing teenagers unless you stop at a grocery store on the way. Beautiful property and I would have zero complaints if they charged me the amount I booked it for.

We had a wonderful stay here. View and room were outstanding. Beaches and pool spectacular. Staff was amazing - so helpful. Only quibble was food - main restaurant was ok but not great for the money (especially dinner) so if you come, venture out elsewhere at least 1-2 nights.

Did not get my Expedia VIP upgrade. Mermaid Beach is nice, but they allow non-guests to pay to use. The property needs improved. The hotel room and hallways are tile, so noise carries into the room easily. We woke up every time anyone went past - at all hours. The filtered water is only accessible by the staff, so don't count on getting it anytime you want. There are limited places to buy bottled water too. Staff is friendly, but not always knowledgeable. Breakfast was good - they even had gluten free options. Dinner food was very slow. I suggest going off property for dinner. Overall, it is expensive for what you get - I have been to other islands that cost less and I enjoyed more. It is highly unlikely my family will return.
