"...there is a distant drumming - thrum thrum thrum – quiet, insistent, growing - the heat and humidity an oppressive and constant companion - beads of sweat form then run down my brow. I feel a sense of heightened awareness the kind you get during times of great stress. I am aware of each droplet of sweat as it forms, can trace its course down my face. I hear the drone of each individual mosquito, note its landing, follow in excruciating detail as it penetrates my skin, injecting the anti-coagulant that allows my blood to flow freely, accompanied by an occasional viral interloper; I hear, no feel, the thrum thrum thrum of the distant drums. ‘When will those supplies show up? Where are they? Reserves are all but tapped’ - still I muster my small band of scientists to remain focused on the incredible discoveries they are making each and every day - yet despite my best efforts, it seems clear - the natives are getting restless..."

Way overpriced and poorly maintained.

Posted Nov 26, 2016
The front desk staff was good checking in but the hotel was horrible, especially for the price they charge. The foldout bed was broken, the toilet wouldn't flush and the bed was full of hair! It was obvious the place was old and rundown.

Never again.

Pros: Our limited contact with the staff. Peter checked us in and he was great, very kind and informative.
Cons: Please see above critique.
Location: The location is good, St George is a wonderful town, so much to do. Beautiful scenery, National Parks are very close.
From the first step into the hotel, the smell of chlorine from the indoor lobby pool hit us. The staff was very kind however as they checked us in. The room was clean but just okay, the beds were not comfortable at all. Breakfast was subpar, the offerings were limited. We chose not to do breakfast after the first morning due to the overpowering smell of chlorine throughout the lobby. We will not be staying at the Red Lion St. George again.

Decent for cheap price

Posted Nov 25, 2016
Pros: cheap price for a place to sleep.
Cons: overall appeal . hotel rooms/carpets are old
The front desk guy was super nice & friendly. We only paid $65 for the night so I wasn't expecting much. Check in area was nice but rooms, hallways, etc were very old and had an old smell. Beds & showers were clean, so it was fine, but the hotel could use an upgrade.

People were nice and friendly. Hallways and stairwells were very dirty. Carpets filthy. Room was cleaned but needed a deep clean

Pros: The breakfast was good.
The hotel was nice, but it needs to be updated. We had problems with the card getting into our room.
