Great hotel,wonderful view and location

We have stayed at the Novotel at st Kilda in the past and loved the location friendly helpful staff in the hotel and the buffet breakfast.Staying at the Novotel also gives you complimentary admission to the St Kilda baths which we were looking forward to after long days at an Autism workshop. On check in we enquired if the baths were still complimentary which we were told yes of course, then after getting the children dressed in swimwear we approached the desk to collect towels and passes to be told "the baths are closed for renovations.This was a disappointment for all of us (and 2 extremely disappointed and confused children- that couldn't comprehend it).We do love the Novotel and understand the renovations were out of their control but the staff on the reception desk should of been honest at check in. Ok rant over

King executive room

Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Very nice toiletries supplied.
Location: good sight seeing options with the beach, Pier and Baths. Acland street close for good bars, restaurant's and cafes.
very efficient check in and great room with a beautiful ocean view. Breakfast options were good and was fresh and tasty.

Good hotel close to the beach

The staff st the front desk were very polite and accommodating. The room was clean and bathroom were clean. Being a family room, I thought it was a little small, but as we were only there a day it worked. Improvements to make would be to have a microwave in the room.

Fantastic location

Great location by the water, tram stop & very near great cafes on Acland Street. Wonderful staff who swiftly upgraded us to a brilliant room when there was a noise issue. Definitely stay again!

Hotel is OK, internet facility is very poor. Wifi hardly works. Lower staff is nonresponsive, except the managers,but Managers are good. Room service is poor.

hotel was close to the beach,

Pros: Staff were friendly and healpful, food was good, close to everything, transport ,city, beach.
Cons: room was in great need of a update. bathroom handle came off in my hand, mattress was saging on both sides.
Location: close to everyting , city, beach, trams,fun park rides.
Hotel was close to the beach and trams,food ect. room was a bit disappointing , matress was uncomfortable, hot shower nob came off, room is in great need of a update. staff were excellent ,food was great and close to eveything, payed parking at rear of hotel

Tired hotel needs upgrade

Run down hotel. Room not clean, mattress collapsing. Mould in grout in bathroom, bath stained, toilet top cracked. Staff welcoming and service centric. Gym proficient. Position good. Breakfast awefull. No spoons or forks. Food in buffet cold, coffee took for ever to arrive and was cold. Left and went to a cafe. This is more a two star hotel at the moment. Not an enjoyable stay.

Disappointing

Pros: Location
Cons: Decor in need of an upgrade.
Having always imagined that this hotel was a bit upmarket I was quite disappointed. Staff were good but the rest was a bit of a let down. Room small and sparse - more like an Ibis. Condition in need of an upgrade. Close to the Esplanade and Acland St, so location good.
