Nice but noisyPosted Nov 3, 2017
Good location, good staff, good food, good access to St Kilda swimming complex but on main road so front room was very noisy with trams, street cleaners, late night revellers. Loved the reward for reduced room service option.

Needs refurbishingPosted Oct 20, 2017
The Rydges needs an update however, having said that. The room was clean and quiet. Grading it as Superior twin room was a little confusing as it was 2 single beds not 2 doubles as most clients expect and receive in other motels

Overall experience was ok, staff was pleasant too. We stayed only for one night. Room was comfortable but shower was full of mosquitoes. Bathroom door also need repair.

so so tired hotel with low ceilings décor was rather sad and purely a bad makeover of an old dated hotel

The staff were superPosted Sep 4, 2017
At every stage the staff were helpful, they found us some extra tea bags late at night, they helped with the parking arrangements and with my transits when leaving. They were always greeting us with warm smiles.

parking more than quotedPosted Aug 30, 2017
Expedia site quoted parking at $17 per day, hotel charged $30 per day! Also surcharges on credit cards is an annoying gouge by hotel.

Perfect position, middle of everythingPosted Aug 24, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: It's well presented with in house food options and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom lights are way too bright especially in the dark of night. The pillows were too high for me (used a towel in the end).
Location: Rydges is a great base for exploring St Kilda & Melbourne City - by foot or public transport.
We arrived on dusk and it was freezing, so the intended walk on the beach wasn't an option. Went instead for a lovely meal at Republica. Took it easy in the morning - loved the 11am checkout. Breakfast with the St Kilda locals at Abbey Road Cafe then off to shop our way home.
