Great Hotel and Casino

Loved our stay at Ameristar! We had a king room and it was so luxurious and beautiful. Also the staff is exceptional and consistently attentive. If six straight were available they'd get em from me.

Very Nice Rooms

Location: The casino is not a non smoking facility. Be prepared.
The rooms were very clean and well stocked with towels. All of our requests or inquiries were attended to in an expedited manner. This was one of the best hotel experiences we've had.

The hotel was beautiful! The hallways were not as clean as I would like. Q-tips on floor for two days and definitely not vacuumed in a while. The casino was so smoky! Not paying anything!

Nice hotel, slow check in

Pros: The view from the room was awesome. 3 TV's in the room, even the bathroom. There is a separate sitting/living room.
Cons: It would be better if there was more staff at the front desk on a Saturday night so check in was quicker. Someone may want to check remote batteries.
Location: The hotel is located in the casino.
It took 20 minutes to check in since there was only 2 people working the front desk on a Saturday night. Other than that the room was very nice. Used a flashlight in the morning to find the coffee maker so as not to wake the other person in the room. The coffee cups looked like they hadn't been changed out but just wiped out. Coffee maker didn't work so I had to order/pay coffee through room service. Also the remote that worked the TV across from the bed didn't work either. The view from the room was awesome since it was on the river side. Very nice view of the river & bridge. Other than a few hiccups with the room amenities it was a very nice stay.

Room was worn down more than what I would have expected. Ripped carpet. Outdated furniture. Nice bathroom. No shampoo or conditioner.

We had fun

Staff is super nice and helpfull and let me check in earlier to prepare the room for my husband's birthday . Room was nice and big. Was clean but filthy, I mean with old stains in the chairs and carpeting. For the price, the chairs and carpeting totally need to be updated. Considering it's impossible to control everything ppl will do inside a room, I would suggest washable covers IKEA-style for all the chairs. It would be more higienic and avoid ppl be grossed about sitting in stained chairs. Swimming pool was gorgeous and super clean, we went late and was nice and not very busy. Some young kids showed up after 9pm, when they claim pool is opened only for adults. The guy taking care of the pool at the moment said something to them and afterwards they left. We would not mind if they stayed but I think they should consider a better access control to the pool area if they would advertise "only adults after 9 pm". Next day check out was quick and easy, staff again very friendly.
