Overall, this was a good place to stay. The staff was very wonderful and the proximity to downtown St. Louis can't be beat for the price at about 15-20 minutes to the Arch and City Museum. The area felt safe, too.
The room wasn't very clean. The bathroom floor was just gross. There was a lot of hair and debris on it and the tub had chunks of dirt in it that needed to be rinsed down.
I thought when I read the reservation that our room had a microwave, but it did not (apparently none of the rooms do) so we had to use the microwave on the 2nd floor. No big deal as this was my mistake as I misread the hotel info.
The bartender on the 2nd floor let us use the industrial microwaves in his kitchen area so we were incredibly grateful for that.
The hairdryer burned up on me when I went to use it and the staff replaced it as soon as possible, which was nice.
Our mattress had a dip in it and could have used replacing. But the hotel was quiet, so that was great. Breakfast was good, too. Lots of options.
You can walk to Walmart and there are lots of dining options within walking distance. A great vegan restaurant, Plant Craft Kitchen, that can also do gluten-free meals is 5 min away by car.
There were some things that were detrimental to our visit, but not the hotel staff's fault, like the people smoking marijuana in the hotel (in a room near ours) and in the pool area.
It wasn't the best hotel, but it was a decent and convenient place to stay with a great staff.
