When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk and the only sign was to the right of the desk on the wall and said dial 0 for assistance. There was no phone in sight so we awkwardly waited for several minutes and then I decided to reach over the counter to use that phone as that was the only phone in the whole lobby. The phone barely rang once and a man by the name of Rand comes barreling around the corner, and this is not an exaggeration, yelling at me saying- you will not reach over the counter!! He said it 3 times very angrily. I was in utter dismay as I was there with only my mother, daughter and sister and we genuinely thought that was what we were supposed to do. He yelled you have to use the phone and finally I was able to get a word in and said, what phone?! He said the one outside in the box. Again, what?! The sign said nothing about a phone that I had to go back outside and use. I didn't even see it when we arrived. I do think at this point he new he over reacted but he never apologized. I genuinely felt threatened for a minute and it was truly an innocent act. I would have never reached over the desk had the sign indicated to go outside. If anyone actually does read this, know I was embarrassed for this hotel and Rand after the fact. I am in the customer service industry and was appalled by the lack of at this hotel. Please create a new sign that will direct customers accordingly so no one else has to endure the wrath of Rand. Thank you.
