Friendly staff but accommodations very outdated.

Very dated rooms and furniture. The building was very dated also. Called ahead to inform of late checking.....very helpful.

Need a place to sleep for the night, it'll due.

I live about 4.5 hours from Pontoon Beach. I chose this hotel because there was a hot tub in the room...something that made it stand out from the other options. But, we had issues with our key cards not opening the side entrance doors and the door to our room. I doubt the side door reader even works because I saw anyone who tried to use it have to walk around to the front. That was an unfortunate inconvenience. I also didn't realize hotels in Illinois still allowed smoking in the rooms. So if youre a non-smoker like us, make sure you pay attention to whether the room is non smoking or smoking. Obviously this aspect wasn't the fault of the hotel. Just a heads up. There were mirrors on the two walls by the hot tub and one of them had a huge crack running down the center of it. Not very safe :/ The faucet and the floor of the tub aren't maintained very well. In the bathroom it looks as though the ceiling was leaking from a leak from the shower above us. It looks like they fixed it once, but not very well...the ceiling paint was bubbled up and moldy. The continental breakfast was the bare minimum. A waffle maker, some stale cereal, and a couple pastries. The pastries/muffins were in a tupperware container with a broken lid. Not very fresh. Basically, if you need a place to sleep for a night, it'll due...but if youre looking for a well kept hotel, this probably isn't the place to go.

Clean no frills at reasonable price

Friendly front desk and housekeeping staff. No frills but clean room, comfortable bed at a good price. Perfect for our need to visit Mom daily in nursing home 4 miles away. And it is in close proximity to airport and city.

Clean no frills room. Comfy bed. Breakfast available. Friendly front desk and housekeeping staff. Safe neighborhood. Short drive to St. Louis airport or city.

Odd mix of old and new

This hotel could really use a better cleaning crew. Oddly, the room we stayed in was remodeled, updated, and pretty nice, but the rest of the hotel clearly needs updated and cleaned. Wallpaper was peeling in the halls and the carpet was filthy. The room itself was fairly clean, but there were spots on the faucet, dust on the hangers and a hair in the shower. Everything seemed like it wasn't really getting a solid scrubbing. The bedding was fresh and it appeared that it was newer. The entire place smells like cigarette smoke and we were in a non-smoking room. Staff was friendly. This hotel was a really odd mix of old and new. It felt like they are making "Band-Aid" repairs instead of truly fixing it up.

Adequate but not great

Pros: Easy to find, price
Cons: Smell in hallways
Our room was spacious and nicely furnished but nothing special. The halls did not smell good but the room was better. It smelled like lotion which I didn't mind but my husband found unpleasant -- although better than the hallways. We put a do not disturb sign on our door when we left for the day because we did not want our room cleaned. When we returned we had a note from housekeeping saying they couldn't make the bed because a laptop was on it and they could not move the laptop. They also informed us they had given us new do not disturb hangars for the door. I thought the purpose of "do not disturb", meant the cleaning people didn't enter the room at all. We left early each morning before breakfast was served so we cannot comment on that. Overall the place was quiet and the bed was quite comfortable. My husband had to mess with cables or a switch or something on the back of the tv to get the cable/satellite to function but then it worked fine. since we used it mostly as a place to just sleep and relax a bit, it was more than suitable and a good price.

Terrible experience at this hotel

I was not impressed first off took a shower and exhaust fan isn't working so I look in there and you can see fan had cardboard put in there to stop rattling and so I plugged it in and was loud so unplugged again and left alone ! They also had it appear like pool was closed so we go to swim and water is freezing and then notice there is all kinds of trash in it and it also made me and my faimilies skin burn and itch I believe chlorine levels were way to high and the the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on I stayed in room 207

Thank you for your suggestion, I want to apologies for your not so great stay with us. I will make sure maintenance will look in to the exhaust fan and fix it or get changed. We do maintain and check chemicals in the pool everyday to make sure we are all good with our health code and pool was all good. I am sorry to hear that you did not like our beds, but we mostly get compliments on our beds. Once again I apologies for your stay.
