This was a convenient location for our purposes.

Posted Dec 27, 2016
Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: Can't think of anything other than amenities like ice and vending machines on floors rather than in lobby only
Location: This hotel is located across the street from the east entrance of Forest Park, a popular attraction. It is also next door to Barnes Jewish Hospital
This hotel has a friendly and responsive staff. Our stay was over the Christmas holiday. Despite having to work over a major holiday the staff was cheerful and provided excellent service. It was quiet and restful. The breakfast offering was good quality.

Nice location at the hospital

Posted Dec 21, 2016
Pros: convenience
Cons: don't over perfume the lobby
Price was decent, rooms were clean, indoor walk to the hospital, shopping a 5 minute walk away.

Parkway stay

Posted Dec 13, 2016
We checked in right before midnight. There was no heat on in our room and it took quite awhile to warm up. The heater/fan were loud. The room was clean but outdated and the halls and carpet are stained. Staff was extremely polite and accommodating. Great place for those who have family in the hospital.

Hello and thank you for the comments. We are in the process of our total remodel as you might have noticed during your stay. Due to the mention of the loud fan, you must have been placed in one of our guestrooms that has not yet been renovated. All of our rooms will be completed by the end of December 2016. We hope you will select the Parkway Hotel on your next visit to STL you will definitely get to enjoy our new beautiful, upscale, modern and let’s not forget a quite guestroom. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Visiting daughter

Posted Nov 29, 2016
Pros: Location, room comfort and decor, Cleanliness. Parking.
Location: Near Forest Park and Central West End and the "Grove". Many restaurants. Short drive to Botanical Gardens.
I have stayed at the hotel before but the renovations made it even better. Very clean, comfortable, and quiet.. I had a wonderful view of the city. The hotel's location is in the Central West area of St Louis and close to parks. It is particularly convenient for me due to it's close proximity to my daughter's home.

Perfect location

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Pros: I really loved the location because it was right next to the hospital. But the room was more than I was expecting . It was so nice and very clean and everyone was friendly. Will definitely be back.
Cons: The only negative thing is you have to $7.00 a day to park in their garage.
Location: There are so many things to do. There is the zoo and science center.

hello and thank you for the review. Glad that you enjoyed our lovey hotel and newly renovated rooms. We look forward to having you return. The parking garage is not owned, managed or operated by the Hotel. The Hotel gets charged $7 per day per used spot and we pass that charge along to our guests. If you check the parking fees at the other hotels you will find they are in double digits. Things to do are plentiful in the Central West End where we are located, many STL attractions, restaurants, cafes, nightlife and so much more. Have a wonderful Holiday Season!

Great Location But a Little Tired

Posted Nov 7, 2016
Pros: This hotel is very well located to the large Barnes Jewish hospital complex as well as the SLU and Wash U communities. It's friendly with easy attached parking. The pillows are great and the fresh baked cookies are terrific. The free popcorn was great (although somewhat out of character for the hotel) and adjacency with direct access to an Applebee's restaurant convenient for a quick cocktail or nite cap. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We selected the hotel because of the great Expedia rate - about 50% off - with a daughter at SLU. With some minor adjustments, this hotel would be terrific. Hope management can pull it off.
Cons: The hotel overall is a little tired, particularly at the standard rate (you could stay at the Ritz for about the same). While there are signs about renovation, I didn't see any. The lobby is large but appears not to have been improved in over 20 years. The convenience store (notably understocked) and its adjacent front desk unappealing. The rooms are OK with a nice flat screen TV. But plugs are lacking, the beds are a little stiff and the layout not terribly functional. It works but is a 1960's design. The free breakfast is bountiful but the food only marginal - eggs dry, fruit minimal, potato pancakes overdone and like cardboard, etc. Identical issues with the food two days in a row. When we first entered the room, there was only one soap in the bathroom...felt a little like Days Inn but only in this regard. Suggest more comfortable beds, more plugs, two bars of soap in the bathroom and updated furnature.
Location: Very well located for the great hospital complexes that are attached by skywalks, SLU, WashU and the Park. Many nearby restaurants

Hello and thank you for your comments. The Parkway Hotel opened in November 2003, when we opened our look of heavy drapery and dark wood was the popular look at that time. The Parkway Hotel has been under renovation in 2016 and it will be completed at the end of December 2016. Our 4th floor will be ready for guests shortly, floors 2 and 3 up and coming with our New, sleek, modern look by the end of 2016. At this point due to the fact that we are a very popular hotel and sell out often some guests are assigned to our 2 floors that are currently not renovated. Redesigning our front desk area will be the next project. We do offer our free hot breakfast buffet, fresh baked cookies, 24 hour coffee/ hot tea and free shuttle service to a limited area. Our fresh baked cookies have been a big hit with our guests since we started offering them complimentary since 2009. For those guests who prefer other breakfast choices, there are many restaurants close by that you can walk to that have many options. We hope to see you again in 2017 the next time you visit your daughter at SLU. You will enjoy what you see. Have a wonderful upcoming holiday season.

Comfortable, excellent staff!!

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast.
Cons: They are renovating right now, so I'm sure it will look great when they are finished. The lobby already looks fantastic!
Location: The location is right by & has a tunnel connecting to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, is very close to Forest Park and just a short drive to The Hill.
The hotel is a little bit outdated (old carpet) but still very comfortable. The lobby is very nice and updated. I was elated that one of the included toiletries was a makeup remover wipe, which I had forgotten to pack, so it's like they knew just what I needed!! The included breakfast was one of the best free breakfasts you can get. Biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage links & patties, fruit, cereal, pastries, drinks, great coffee selection, and there's an entire dining room, so seating isn't an issue at all.

Thank you very much for your comments. The Parkway Hotel currently under renovation, most of our floors have been remodeled and look amazing, you must have been on floor 2 or 3 that has not been renovated as yet. The entire hotel will be completed by the end of December 2016. We do have a great breakfast with many options as you mentioned, thank you for sharing that. We have extra space that we open up for our guests to enjoy their breakfast when the breakfast room is at capacity. We look forward to having you stay with us again in the near future so that you too can have an evening in one of our modern, sleek, updated guestrooms. See you soon and have a wonderful holiday season.
