Loved Fond Deaux. Nestled into nature with a nice hike up to see Sugar beach and the Petit Piton. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Great massage by Suella. From the front desk staff, dining room and gift shop/chocolate experience, even the all natural “nature music” at night, all great! I personally LOVED the outside shower 😄 would hands down stay there again.

Beautiful rustic property set in wonderful vegetation. Felt very secluded but would have been useful to have a car, otherwise very expensive to get anywhere. Shuttle to sugar beach was a nice touch. The chocolate tour at the hotel was great, all be it a tad expensive. Dinner service at the hotel was slow but this was rectified on our 2nd night. No children’s menu available but the kids had a great time in the little pools & watching the chickens. The staff at reception could not have been more friendly & helpful. With a few small tweaks this place will be magical!

Our flight was canceled so we ended up here in a cocoa plantation late at night. It was rustic but quite beautiful & quiet once the sun rose. Staff were helpful. A bit like camping in a cabin but charming.

Incredible staff always there to help and surrounded by tropical rainforest. You are in your own private bungalow with no television. Great pool and restaurants and bars to eat and dine it. Also offer massages and excursions.

The hotel premises are amazing, you're basically staying in a botanical garden. Everyone gets their own cottage which is a very nice touch, it does feel isolated if you're staying by yourself. This is not a 4 star hotel as far as the rooms are concerned, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Could be amazing with more attention to detail and service.

This place was awesome. Just know that you’re staying in a jungle. WiFi was solid (unfortunately), but water pressure, bugs and lack of accessibility to restaurants are real. I’d go back and we loved our stay.

This is a unique property that needs updating and management to properly run it. Location is good proximity to attractions, rooms and facility needs attention. Restaurant served same food and better options with a view are only minutes away. Staff are great but needs management to ratchet things up. This is a 3-star facility that could easily get to 4 stars with some effort.

The grounds are filled with native plants and trees all of which are colourful and huge because it is so tropical. The food is good and reflective of St. Lucia’s culture. The resort is located in Soufriere but is at a bit of a distance from the town and area attractions. Because of the narrowness and twistiness of roads it is not safe to walk to nearby activities so a taxi must be taken. The staff is very good to arrange rides and provide advice, but just be aware that most attractions are not walkable.

Wasn't a good experience. The room had windows that couldn't be closed, and the floorboards had openings through which bugs could easily come in. This also prevented the AC from working effectively. We were bitten by bugs all night. The bathroom sink was made of a porous material that harbors germs. It was disgusting to use. The room came with a private spa, which had such dirty water, that we couldn't even bear to look at it, forget use it. Breakfast was mediocre, and the service was lacking. If this was offered at a really cheap nightly rate, I'd still be unhappy, but we actually paid a pretty penny for it. Unbelievable!

Breathtaking views and seclusion, for the prices I wish it was all inclusive and had activities on the resort for guests to mingle/enjoy. Staff was impeccable , knowledgeable and friendly. Wish their were better priced taxis most were $70 from that area ; overall yummy food and a pleasant , authentic experience

We had the best time walking the grounds of this property! Lots of beautiful plants and fruit trees! The staff was so nice too! I loved hanging out in our cottages pool, eating breakfast and watching the lizards and birds and Sugar beach (daily shuttle) was a magical spot right in between the big and little pitons. I would stay here again! Just some notes... A few things different than the pictures on here. No hammocks on the patios and the cottage was not as private as the images had me believe. We were in a cottage with a pool and AC. Ours overlooked the pool area which luckily was not heavily used. Overall the property was beautiful but a bit older than the images on here. Plan for bugs! I was glad that I had packed bugspray because man were there mosquitoes! We did go during rainy season so Im not sure if its better at other times of the year. Also, in order to see the piton it required a 30 to 45 min hike. You cant see it just looking up from the property. We did the hike 2 times and it was well worth it! Make sure to ask someone before you go! There are two paths and unknowingly we picked the harder one the first time we hiked it. Big boulders and steep steps made for some laughter and slightly sore legs the next day! 😅

Gorgeous resort
The cottages are gorgeous! We stayed in ‘Lemon’. They are all very private. Pool area lovely. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Offered a free shuttle to Sugar Beach where we went snorkelling. Loads of things to do in the area, I think having a car like we did would make sightseeing easy. The hike on the property is well worth doing (about 45 min). We had 3 nights in Rodney Bay and then 3 days here which worked well to see the 2 sides of the island. Breakfast was ok, not a large choice but enough. Dinner wasn’t great, limited choice and quite pricey for the quality. We are there once and then went elsewhere. I think the food is the only thing that lets the resort down a bit, otherwise it’s amazing. Bar tender Randy is fun and makes great cocktails!

A perfect balance of getting back to nature with enough modern amenities that are nit too intrusive but makes the vacation just right. Regarding your disturbing review we did a research with our respective staff personnel whom you came in contact with and gathered the below; 1) Upon check-in you were greeted and briefed with the general property information. 2) You checked out two hours later indicating you had an emergency that needed immediate attention and arrangements were then made. 3) At no time were you escorted to your room, but instead you lingered at the bar and our main access area. Based on the information gathered above to close; Your theory on our property is quite bizarre, far-fetched and baseless for someone who spent only two (2) hours without making full use of our facility. Lastly, at Fond Doux Eco Resort we stand on authenticity and we continue to provide service excellence daily to all our visitors and local guest alike. Incredible hotel with everything you could ask for
Amazing hotel - brilliant location, amazing staff and great food. In such a wonderful location which allows accessing great scenic walking routes. We loved every minute of our stay here, and thoroughly enjoyed the fruit and chocolate making tours. Breakfast spread was very nice (with fresh coconut water and sour orange juice!) and the fried bakes were very nice to wake up to! If you don't have your own rental car, transport via taxis from Fond Doux to anywhere can be quite expensive. Our room was one of the highest rooms - so we had quite a nice workout going up and down. When we arrived the staff helped us taking our bags up which was much appreciated! The staff were really helpful, even with booking restaurants around the local area for us, provided breakfast for us on the morning of our piton hike, and organised taxis for us.

The staff are truly top notch! My husband and I really enjoyed the eco resort. It was nice to unplug and unwind for 5 nights at the resort. The close proximity of things to do in the Soufriere area made the trip wonderful. I would advise for those that don't enjoy "glamping," this may not be for you.

Resort was beautiful and had necessary amenities. However, our cottage was missing an adapter and after asking front desk 3x for it and being told to come back next day, we were told to buy one in town. We appreciated the mosquito net and how well the bathroom door sealed so minimal bugs could get in. Rooms were cleaned regularly (once we came back to an opened bathroom door, luckily minimal bugs came in) AC works well and helps drown out nature noises (if that is a concern for you) Rooms could use a paint job.

Extremely disappointing.
Stayed in the "2 bedroom Deluxe cottage- Angelina." This old, historic house is in very poor condition and needs extensive renovations before it should be rented again. Floor and walls are breaking through in spots, bathrooms are what you'd expect to find in a 1 star hotel. Kitchen is old, dirty, and not well equipped. Furniture is old, and cheap. We killed several large cockroaches during our 1 night stay. It's astonishing they are charging nearly $600/ night for this unit. The value was not even remotely there. The staff at the resort were good. The resort itself is really not up to par. It's a 2 star resort (at best) masquerading as something more.

We had an unforgettable time during our baby moon in St Lucia and that is highly thanks to all the staff members from Fond Doux Eco Resort. The estate is gorgeous, we loved that it didn't feel crowded. Every person on staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, always helping with the planning of our excursions and suggesting ideas. It was truly the experience of a lifetime and a great introduction for our first time in the Caribbean. I would love to go back and take our family.

This eco-resort was beautiful top to bottom. The restaurant was quality, and when we were feeling like going out for dinner or day-trips, the staff was super helpful in booking us cabs. The standalone villa was cozy, comfortable, and immersed in nature making it feel like we were in the middle of the rainforest. Would definitely visit again.

A comfortable base
We enjoyed our stay at Fond Doux and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. However, our cabin definitely felt “tired” and in need of some care and attention. Also, the bathroom was in a sort-of ceiling-less cubicle in the bedroom, which was a little odd and lacking in privacy. The resort’s cocktails were great and much better than the food in the restaurant (vegetarian options were limited). The grounds were well maintained (we enjoyed walking through the rainforest) and the pool looked good. Overall a good base to explore the local area but we wouldn’t rush to book again.

Fond Doux offers a different vibe from the beach-centred resorts in the Soufriere area, but it offers a peaceful and serene environment from which you can explore all the area has to offer. Staff were exceptionally helpful. The restaurant is good, if a little pricey, but staff are happy to make recommendations and reservations for you to dine at a variety of other locations nearby. Having a car helps -- the roads nearby are not walkable and, though taxis are readily available, they are not cheap.

Liked: very friendly staff, interesting grounds, hiking trail on property and walking distance to Tet Paul nature trail. Loved: shuttle to excellent Sugar Beach (great beach, great snorkeling) Hated: loud roosters waking us up from 3am-7am, room and pools need maintenance and better cleaning, restaurant terrible (expensive and little selection esp for vegetarians), plastic straws, some info on website is not accurate (eg only one return shuttle from beach not two, only one hiking path on property not three, etc). Some cost saving as you don't have to pay for excursions to Sugar Beach/snorkel or Tet Paul BUT you will need to taxi elsewhere for dinners and hanging out at the pool is not fun (no bar service, no view, broken loungers, pool needs maintenance).

Great location close to the Pitons which was important to us for our visit. Overall property clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Only con was the hot water for showers did not last very long but did the job.

My husband and I wanted to love it. The staff and grounds were wonderful. However, when we arrived at our cottage, the water in our shower was not hot, barely cool. The electrical outlets did not work, so we couldn't plug in our phones, and one of the lamps was out. I phoned the front desk in the evening, and they said they would have it checked in the morning. After activities the following day, we returned to our cottage at 3 pm, and nothing had been repaired. They were not aware of the problems from the following evening. They sent someone to fix our issues; everything was done except for the hot water. We were later told that our water came from the solar panels on the cottage adjacent to us, and the water would never be hot. Imagine they have a/c in this eco resort, but no hot water for our cottage. Don't stay in Bamboo cottage. I cannot recommend this hotel, as having hot water is a must for us.
