Very pleased with the hotel and facilities. It was very quiet when we were there with few guests, not sure how it would perform when busy.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted Apr 11, 2016
Pros: The beachfront room has loungers and large veranda. It was lovely to sit and relax privately. The bartenders were fun and entertaining.
Cons: the end unit had extra windows. The bedroom did not have a black out curtain and it should for those who don't like to wake up with the sun.
Location: Location is perfect! Lots of great food and bar options nearby and 2 malls within walking distance. It's a quick ride to the Friday night street party
The hotel is in a great location right on a great beach and near good restaurants. The pool is nice and the swim up bar is nicer. The staff were all great and Dexter, Nigel, and Troy behind the bar really made the experience fun. It is not inclusive but you don't need it to be with all the food options nearby. We got a hut everyday at any time, it wasn't a problem. We paid for an ocean view room and were upgraded to a beachfront and it was amazing! Waking up to waves every morning was very relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Thank you for posting your review. We are delighted that you found our Beach front location perfect, our staff friendly and the meal options within walking distance very convenient. I have noted your comment regarding the blackout lining on the curtain. We hope to see you back with us to stay in the not too distant future Best wishes Richard Michelin

Amazing honeymoon

Posted Apr 9, 2016
This hotel has the best beach on the island. The swim up bar is awesome and has bartenders that make you want to stay and relax forever. The breakfast was great, it had everything I could ask for including some local fruits that were exciting to try. The ladies there remembered us every morning and greeted us with welcoming smiles. The staff went above and beyond to give us a honeymoon to remember. They even helped my husband plan a romantic evening with a dinner at the excellent restaurant Chic inside the hotel, followed by champagne and flowers and chocolates when we came back to the room later. The room was comfortable and the rainfall shower, huge tub and double sinks were great.

Close to beach

Posted Mar 3, 2016
Pros: Our room keeper, breakfast and the beach,
Cons: The hotel is not a 4 star. It is aging and its looking like it's in need of a remodel.
Location: Lots of close food nearby within walking distance and beach was good.
The Good: Our room keeper, Sansha was the only reason I would return to the Hotel. She really went out of her way to provide excellent service. I also would rate the Breakfast Buffet as 4 stars. It had just enough to have variety. Beach was great. The Bad: Overall service was pretty Average to poor. Pool/beach attendants did next to nothing. Most times it was "self serve". The Ugly: The first night they put us in a horrible room. Although it was clean,it was extremely noisy. Room 1128 on the ground floor. It was as if no door and walls were present. All noise reverberates off the floor and wall and come straight into the room. They did move us the following evening and from there and it was much better. Stay off the 1st floor if you can.

Thank you for your comments. It is most regrettable that we were unable to meet all of your expectations and your comments have been noted .Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience your first night. The pool service has also been addressed. It is good to note that our team member Sancha went out of her way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and that you enjoyed our breakfast buffet and beach front location. We do hope you might change your mind and return another day Best Wishes Richard Michelin

Everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Pros: Location, comfort, friendliness of staff.
Location: 2 malls for shopping, all varieties of food (including a Brooklyn Pizza place that my wife loved) and a casino, all within walking distance.
My wife and I spent a week at Royal by Rex.....late December. The staff was very accommodating, very welcoming when we checked in, complimentary rum punch and everything! The room was very elegant, modern. The bed was super big and comfortable. The bathroom, aside from some shower drainage problems which they came very rapidly and fixed, was modern and accommodating. Rainforest shower and large soaking tub, very nice! As some people have said, the living room modular furniture was a bit uncomfortable. We had a couples massage in the spa, it was absolutely wonderful. The pool area was very nice, several covered beds to choose from and lounges. The swim-up pool bar was cool...and the bartender made some serious Pina Coladas and Rum Punches. We tried the breakfast buffet, it was decent...just a tad pricey. All in all a very wonderful experience.

Beautiful St. Lucia

Posted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: 1) friendly, helpful staff 2) excellent location, right on a great beach 3) clean, all-suite rooms 4) sparkling clean pool
Cons: Furniture in the living room area of the suite. Uncomfortable modular sofas with no pillows and coffee table with glass top and very sharp corners.
Location: Excellent location right on the beach and close to store, very good restaurants and water sports.
We had a wonderful time on this beautiful island. People are warm and friendly and the weather is perfect!

Pros: Breakfast was good and value for money. We only ate in twice at night, Menus were not appealing. Nice position on the beach.
Location: We had been staying at our apartment in Marigot bay and we were looking for a beach resort which is why we chose it. We would choose another hotel.
Booking for twin beds but we got one King size bed but after slight difficulty it was changed. Ceiling in bathroom leaked for two days so we were offered different room. Hair dryer only supplied on request. We had stayed here 10 years ago but they had not recognised this. When they found out we were given fruit and bubbly ! Would say that the hotel was tired.

Nice Hotel but needs more staff and amenities

Posted Feb 3, 2015
Pros: Location. Beach
Cons: More staff who acutally care. More security.
Location: Great restaurants nearby...but there were alot that were closed or run down as well.
The hotel was in a nice and convienent area...close to town and on the beautiful beach. We had a hard time finding someone at the pool or beach to get us a drink during the day. Seemed like there was not enough staff and the staff there weren't interested in making a positive impression. A 20% tip is with everything so there's not much incentive. Our room didn't have hot water for most of the time...even after complaining to them. The staff made all kinds of noise in the hallway in the morning. Although the beach was nice, there were too many peddlers bothering you during the day. I know that we'll try a more exclusive resort next time..like Sandals where the security is better. The weather was awesome and the restaurants in town were very good. The street party on Friday night is a must. Also water taxi to Pigeon Island and hike to the top...amazing view.
