Great hotel on the beach with lots of activitiesPosted Sep 2, 2015
Pros: Friendly / helpful staff, great water activities, awesome food, live music some nights, on the beach, bar in the pool
Cons: Free wifi is available only at the lobby and pool area. Although we wanted to pay extra for wifi, this was not accessible/offered in our room area.
Location: Rodney Bay Marina - shopping and a lovely beach is a 15 minute taxi ride away.
Stayed only 3 nights at this hotel to celebrate my Mother's birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. We arrived at 9am but the hotel stored our luggage and gave us full access to the resort. However, our room was not ready for check in until 4:30pm. The food was amazing. Breakfast included chocolate chip pancake, French toast and egg stations, fresh smoothies. Each lunch and dinner at the buffet (Palms) restaurant was a different theme - Greek, Italian, French - all excellent! Dined at Morgan's Pier for my Mom's birthday - food was divine, waiters sang to her - very thoughtful. Thank you to Martin and the rest of the staff for making it so special! Reservations have to be made in advance - This is good so guests can experience all the different restaurants. Drinks are the bar were always flowing. Red flags were given while we were lounging on the beach and the bar tenders would bring drinks to us when we raised them .. extreme spoiltness! Really enjoyed the water activities that were included - Banana boating, water skiing (even included lessons), kayaking, snorkeling. Jet Skiing has to be paid for. Joy's Cruises offers an EXCELLENT boat and land tour to visit the Soufriere, snorkel in Anse Couchon, waterfall and eat local lunch among other things. Tour guide was hilarious. If you only have one spare day, DO THIS TOUR!

Comfortable and enjoyable.Posted Sep 2, 2015
Pros: The setting, the food generally, the sea, the plastic rings in the water. Some of the staff were genuinely friendly and are all trained to serve.
Cons: Cover food from flies in Palms restaurant, get rid of cats in eateries, night music too loud, music at the Lounge from 6 to 8 should be nearer diners.
Location: Close to airport in north of island, Castries and Rodney Bay. Many interesting and varied tours to different parts of the island by land or sea.
A well-positioned hotel, five minutes from the airport, this hotel afforded a beautiful ambiance, with the opportunity to either relax and do nothing or get involved in the many activities offered. The water though not crystal clear was wonderful to bathe in and calm for those without sea legs. The staff did what they were supposed to do, and some were genuine. The food offered a different theme each day and was quite good, except for the coffee which was horrible. (Try the cafe for a decent cup.) The omelets were tasteless also. Could be the cheese used. There were options of restaurants to eat at at night, though the buffet turned out to be the best bet. They need to cover the food in the Palms restaurant though. Some attempt to do this was made at the Bombou. Though the alcoholic drinks were free not many of the bartenders knew how to make a decent cocktail. The activity at night was mediocre, artistes insisted in speaking in fake American accents, and the variety left much to be desired. The artistes from 6 to 8 pm were the best and if not available for the 9 to 11pm slot should be near the diners who could appreciate them. Not all visitors want to 'prance' while on vacation. The beautiful sax music and the solo artistes to listen to or slow dance to would have been welcomed on some nights.(I spent ten.) Day activities were varied and water aerobics was top notch. There were no radios or clocks in the two rooms occupied by my party, but the service when needed was prompt.

Wonderful hotel!Posted Sep 2, 2015
Cons: The only downside was that free wifi was only available in two public areas and not in the rooms.
Location: Excellent location only 10 minutes from George Charles airport. Rodney Bay was also 10-15 minutes away by car.
I took my mom to St James Club for her birthday and we had an awesome time. We arrived at 9am and even though the check-in time was 3pm they invited us to go to buffet breakfast and lunch. The staff was always very friendly and engaging. The bartenders kept us hydrated with all sorts of delicious Caribbean concoctions from fruit smoothies to rum punches. There was a wide variety of water sports available from banana boating to water skiing which we enjoyed thoroughly. The highlight of our trip was an island tour that picked us up from the hotel beach and took us to see the sulfur springs, Pitons and a waterfall. Bottom line - this vacation was money well spent and I would definitely stay @ St James Club Morgan Bay again.

We enjoyed our stay. The beach area was always lively and fun. Lots of people out and about enjoying the facility. The food& drinks were good. On our first night (Wednesday) we attended a great beach party. The entertainment that evening was excellent. Thursday nights entertainment was also very good but Friday and Saturday night the entertainment was definitely lacking. I would definitely recommend this resort

The hotel entertainment was lacking, the entertainers could not sing and there was no day time activities unless you like the beach which was very rocky and small The hotel states it was all inclusive but you had to buy drinking water for your room The staff was very friendly

Solid resort with some things to improve onPosted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: Food was very good, bars and pools were located throughout the resort, the spa was terrific and i highly recommend the couples massage
Cons: Check-in process, waiting staff at some of the restaurants could have been better. Many times we were waiting for water or other drinks.
Location: Resort is in northern part of the island so when you land the ride from the airport is over an hour.
My wife and I just returned from St James's Morgan Bay Resort for our Honeymoon and we had a great time overall. Check-in was underwhelming. I was expecting to arrive and have drinks brought to us (like in the movies) but sadly we were bombarded by paperwork and information. The staff sat us down, didn't even tell us where to leave our luggage and told us to fill out a couple pages of questions, billing information etc. After brushing off the stressful check-in process the staff loaded up our bags in a golf cart and took us to where our room was located. We weren't pleased when they lost one of our neck pillows that we had just bought at the airport for the flight to St. Lucia. The staff member backtracked in the golf cart and found where it fell off. Once in the room, we saw that it was very neat and clean with great tiled floors and great lighting. However, the view from the balcony was of a GIANT palm tree. I had paid a good deal extra, despite many second thoughts, and I quickly realized what a mistake i had made. I picked up the phone immediately and complained that i had paid extra for a beach/ocean view and Guest Services said there was no availability anywhere else on the resort until Wednesday (we checked-in on a Monday). Wednesday came around and you guessed it, nothing until Friday. Friday we were finally put into a great room with a great view. It took them 4 days to fix the problem but at least we had the 2nd half of our honeymoon to enjoy what i paid for.

Just okay.Posted Jul 9, 2015
Nothing was great. It was just okay. Hotel was outdated. Food was okay at best. Beach area was small. We were looking for a wow factor and did not get it here!

Nice hotelPosted Jul 9, 2015
St. Lucia is a beautiful island and we are glad we got to experience it. This hotel was okay, everything was clean and organized and there was always something on the menu that I could eat (I'm a very picky eater!) With that said there are a couple of things I'd like to point out for future reference: A) this hotel is an hour and a half away from the airport. Most nice hotels are on the north side like this hotel so the journey from the airport is a must ...but it is a long ride up and down the mountainside. Even I was getting a bit nauseous. Hotel transfers were $100 a person! B) After about 9:30/10:00PM EVERYTHING closes...so there's no where to get food. The day we arrived (after our long journey) we decided to take a nap and overslept and woke up at 9:30PM ...only to be told that everything was closed and we would have to wait until the next day to eat breakfast. Not something I wanted to hear on my first day of vaca...I was so hungry! C) we like to go on excursions while on vacation-St Lucia does not have a lot to offer HOWEVER we went on two different catamarans and they were fun D) we are a young couple, but this place seemed more like an older couples resort-very quiet and very spread out (you can call for a golf cart ride at any time!) E) free wifi in two areas Other than that, I believe you get what you pay for. Drinks are okay...food is ok...service is ok...Would rate 3/5 only because everywhere else I've stayed has been tons better In comparison
