Staff was very nice and helpful. Food options very limited and not great. Room decor very old, no TV, very secluded and quiet. Workout room had two treadmills but only the very old one was functioning and the new one was out of order.

It's important for guests to understand before booking that Stonefield Resort is designed to immerse visitors in the tranquility of our incredible natural setting, with as few distractions as possible. So when you say "no TV, very secluded and quiet", these are actually two of our biggest selling features! Surprising to hear that you found the options at Mango Tree Restaurant 'limited' as we have a unique menu that changes daily with fresh market ingredients. But we respect your personal taste on the matter. It's great to hear that our staff were kind and helpful. We strive to provide this level of service every day, to every guest. We apologize about any equipment issues in the workout room, the treadmill you mention has since been serviced. It would be our pleasure to host you again on your next visit to St. Lucia. All the best.

Mysigt rum med pool och fantastisk utsikt

Posted Apr 13, 2016 on Hotels

Tropical Paradise

Posted Apr 6, 2016
Pros: The private villa concept with personal use pools was just outstanding and the views from the villa areas and restaurant were breathtaking.
Cons: Add basic options such as burger plates or basic sandwiches to lunch and dinner menus
Location: hiking, waterfalls, zipline,
I would describe the location as having lush tropical plantings, flowers, hummingbirds, etc wherever you turned. The private villa concept with personal use pools was just outstanding and the views from the villa areas and restaurant were breathtaking.

Best Bang for Buck in St. Lucia

Posted Feb 23, 2016 on Hotels
Went for engagement trip. Got engaged at the top of Gros Piton. Can be very relaxing or adventurous getaway. We were in 2 rooms. La rose and Oleander. La Rose had one working outlet for charging electronics etc. was kind of difficult to have everything charged. Also WiFi did not work in the La Rose Room but was supposed to be fixed soon. For our time in the Oleander room, we had to replace a propane tank for the stove and realized half way through there was a switch for the hot water. Other than these criticisms (which was not necessarily the resorts fault for the most part) the staff was amazingly accommodating to fix and help out with anything wrong. The resort was amazing with breathtaking views, scenery and sunset every night. Best bang for the buck on the island hands down. Other places like Sugar Beach are much nicer but significantly more expensive and don't have as good views IMO.

Pros: our villa ... we stayed in the jasmine villa .... perfect view
Cons: the price of the bbq night .. it should not be $65 per person .... buffets should be a deal not more than the regular menu
Location: snorkel at sugar beach is a must ... if you are fit ... hike the gross piton .... walk to town ... taxi back...volcano + mud bath.... mineral waterfal

Great view, lots of privacy, villas need some TLC

Posted Feb 15, 2016 on Hotels
Very nice resort overall, overlooking the Petit Piton and Malgretoute Beach. Pros: Villa was roomy and well laid out, provided ample privacy. Having our own plunge pool was a nice touch. Staff was wonderful: friendly and helpful as needed. View of the Petit Piton was simply incredible. Cons: Minor appliance issues during our five day stay: the refrigerator was not cooling properly and was eventually replaced; the electronic safe malfunctioned (with passports locked inside)the evening before we were to fly home. Meals were expensive. An unremarkable barbecue buffet was US$180 ($75x2, $30 tip). (Consider exploring other dining options- there are numerous alternatives a short drive away). Mattress was adequate, although it was on the firm side. (It was surprising that a higher-end resort such as this one does offer pillow top mattresses).

Great to hear about that, for the most part, you had a wonderful experience with us! It sounds like you had a bit of bad luck with some of the fixtures in your room. This is certainly not the norm and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Regarding the restaurant prices, they can, indeed, seem a bit high compared with North America. However they reflect the cost of high-quality ingredients in a small, isolated country like St. Lucia. We hope you will enjoy another vacation with us soon!

If you are like us and don't like all inclusives

Posted Feb 8, 2016
Cons: Free breakfast menu could include a couple more items.
Stonefield Estate was absolutely perfect for us. We stayed in the Jacaranda villa overlooking the Caribbean ocean and the Petite Piton. Privacy was wonderful, views were amazing! My wife and I fell asleep numerous times in the hammock on the deck watching the stars and loved having our own plunge pool. This is not your typical hotel, but that is not what we wanted anyway. Loved the outdoor shower, the kitchen was not elegant, but it had everything we needed. It was much like going to our own cabin, but in a totally different environment. Staff was extremely polite and helpful with the serving, cleaning and answering a wide array of questions we had about the island. It wasn't our favorite place to eat. We had free breakfast every morning and felt they could have expanded that a bit. St. Lucia is an amazing island and when we go again, we will probably stay in the Jacaranda Villa again!

Ruhig gelegene Poolvilla

Amazing view but some staff let the expirence down

Posted Jan 4, 2016
Staying over the Christmas period so paying over £400 a night so expectations were high...arrived for check in for 4pm with the room was not ready. after a 20min wait(and no apology) we went to the room. The view of the Piton is amazing. And hammock is very comfy. The fridge freezer was on and on full but food went off and didn't keep ice cubes frozen so something wrong with that. Also the lady on security has to be one of the moodiest people I've ever met (but maybe I would if I was working Christmas)

We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our amazing views and comfy villas. Sorry to hear about any less-than-stellar service. That is certainly not the norm here as we endeavor to treat every guest like a member of our family. We hope you'll consider Stonefield Resort again on your next visit to St. Lucia.
