Good, but needs improvementsPosted Sep 6, 2015
Pros: The size of the room and the full kitchen. I was able to store food and snacks for the duration of the time.
Cons: Signs to inform the guests of construction on the property.
Location: Visit the restaurants right off the property (Canoa, Mr Busby's), take a trip to Orient Beach, or venture to Marigot for shopping and local cuisine
The rooms are large with adequately supplied full kitchens. Great for couples and families. I enjoyed the views of the ocean and St. Barths from the balcony. The resort is conveniently located next to some great local restaurants. The breakfast buffet seems to look like there is not enough food to set out at any one time, so we choose to go to other places located right off the property. They are in the middle of some construction/ renovations which makes it hard to move from the lobby to the pool area (you need to walk through the hotel restaurant to access it). The entertainment is great in the evenings and local excursions arranged by the hotel are fun packed. This should be the place to go in a year or two.

Nice resort, centrally locatedPosted Aug 3, 2015
Cons: Make more appealing to the younger crowds.
Location: Big Fish, Mr. Busby's Beach Bar, Mama's Pizza are all within a mile of the hotel and have great food. There's also a small convenient store close by,
From the moment we arrived, my family and I were greeted with friendly faces. English was well spoken and understood. We even received s free room upgrade at arrival. We saw some pretty phenomenal views of the ocean from the room. It was helpful having a fridge and stove in the room. This helped save a lot of money. Very easy for 2 people to spend $50 per meal every day eating out. The housekeepers kept us supplied with towels and the room clean every day. We did have a minor sugar ant problem near the sink in both rooms, but not more than a few. There were some renovations being done, but that didn't bother us much. There is a fitness center, laundry facility, souvenir shop and 2 restaurants located on the resort itself, although several restaurants are within walking distance. The Infinity bar was great. Staff was fast and drinks were yummy. We never ate at the restaurant as we thought it was still being renovated until the last 2 days and had other plans. Happy Hour is from 4-6 at the bar and the 2 for 1 deal was great. Beau Beau's had good food choices and variety as well as entertainment some nights with karaoke, singing, dancing, etc. The prices were reasonable as well. Ofcourse there will be staff that offer free things, discounts, tickets if you sit through a time share presentation. We didn't. The pool was beautiful and had great views, but due to height, a little chilly with the wind. The beach had too much seaweed most days to enjoy. Small, quiet resort.

Nice resort with great pool area.Posted May 28, 2015
Pros: The room was clean. The pool and hot tub areas are beautiful.
Cons: The beach was full of seaweed. An employee said from a hurricane in October 2014, but an owner said it's been getting worse for the last three years.
Location: It's far from the variety of restaurants in Simpson Bay, but close to shopping in Philipsburg. It's very close to Orient Beach as well.
This was my 5th visit to St. Maarten amd decided to stay on this side of the island. We upgraded to an oceanfront room amd it was 100% worth it. Our balcony was 10 feet from the edge of the sea and very private. My only complaint was my king studio was small. We weren't in the room that much anyway, so we made it work.

Great relaxed locationPosted May 18, 2015
Nice, small size resort with restaurants and a store close. Great views and peaceful beach, although not great for snorkeling due to seaweed and rough waters. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Love the swimming pool and the Jacuzzi, the best !Posted May 10, 2015 on Hotels
Upon check-in, they gave us a very noisy room in the center of the lobby area. After we made a complaint, we changed to a better, quieter room but we can hear the neighbor coughing. Overall is good, only the soundproofing needs to be improved.

We had a good 1 week stay at the hotel the room was nice with a great view. Housekeeping was not the best had to call twice for them to clean the room. But otherwise everything else was good. Would recomend.

Very poor experience - TIME SHARE SOLICITATIONPosted Mar 30, 2015
Our experience at Oyster Bay was very poor. Expedia represented to us that we were reserving 2 duplex room with 2 separate bedrooms and baths. The "duplex" was a loft style room with 1 bedroom. It took 3 hours to check in and in the end we had to pay $800 more dollars to get 2 extra rooms. On top of that we were constantly bombarded by heavy sales pitches to buy a time share. It was extremely noisy with loud music for water aerobics starting at 7:00 a.m. Don't go there.
