Relaxing vacationPosted Nov 29, 2015
Pros: The restaurants, the grounds, the pool and beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service in the restaurants was exceptional.
Cons: The corridors leading to the rooms need upgrading.
Location: Pinel Island was a few minutes away. Worth going to. The hotel was between the largest mountains on the island. It was secluded and private.
Relaxing beach vacation. The beach and pool were beautiful. The staff was friendly and courteous. The food was good at the buffet. The Krystal Fusion restaurant was excellent. It was not a problem getting reservations. The restaurants were so good we didn't bother leaving the hotel. We just relaxed on the beautiful grounds. The bar was open 10 am every morning. The staff would bring drinks to the pool. We had a great time.

Wonderful Honeymoon!!!Posted Nov 20, 2015
We stayed 8 nights at the Riu. The staff was very friendly and wanting to please. The food was good also, sometimes it was not hot enough but that tends to happen with buffet style. Every day was sunny and we got awesome spots on the beach. Drinks were top notch and Delicious. We took a catamaran to Anguilla which is the island across the bay. It had the most amazing beach we have ever seen. Our honeymoon was fantastic. We will recommend this place to everyone!

Decent hotel, very secluded, need updating.Posted Nov 15, 2015
Pros: Scenery, landscpaing
Cons: hallway cleanliness, allowing day of restaurant reservations
Location: Location is remote requiring driving steep inclines and declines to get to the resort.
Driving to the hotel required driving steep grades and inclines that the rental car could not make without using the low gear. This could be quite dangerous in rainy weather. The hotel had no signs or name plates on it, so we had to stop and ask to see if we arrived at the correct place. The landscaping is awesome, and the scenery is beautiful. The rooms need updating. The bathrooms has a shower with a half glass wall allowing water to spray all over the floor when using it. The hallways smelled musty. The staff were very nice and helpful with the exception of the person who takes reservations for the nicer restaurants. She stated they only took reservations 2 days in advance, but they had to be made in person. So if you arrive on a Monday, your earliest reservation would be Wednesday evening. That's 2 full days of buffet eating.

STAY AWAY HONEYMOONERSPosted Nov 1, 2015
Pros: The pools and beach
Cons: Major renovation. Food needs major improvement.
Location: 35 from airport. Nothing close by off the resort. When you are far off enough resort it isn't safe.
Terrible experience. Lets first start with the pros: -Hotel pools are clean. -Very nice Ocean View -Had a variety of activities (1 day notice) -Restaurant staff was friendly and professional Cons: -Front desk extremely rude/ unhelpful. -They have three night time restaurants which you need to give 2 day notice for reservations. La Mer ( disgusting), Krystal ( got a rubber steak) , and the last restaurant we didn't get a chance to reserve there because we did not wake up at 7am to do so and stand in line. -The buffet is bland and inconsistent. -We had to leave the resort to find a restaurant off the resort. We were told they were all closed because it was off season. -THE ROOMS SMELL TERRIBLE. (BEWARE). EXTREMELY OLD. -Room service answered us 2 out of the 5 times we called. The menu for room service literally has 5 things on it. -Along side the beach was abandoned bars and restaurants. Was not appealing. -We left three days early from our honeymoon because all of the above.^^^ -We were charged $137 at checkout because we had no cell service and had to call the airline from the hotel landline. I talked to the supervisor and she refused to waive the charge. -If you don't care about bed bugs and where you sleep and what you eat this is the hotel for you. -P.S- Flies all over the buffet food. -Thanks for reading. Don't learn the hard way.

Great hotel and staff!!!Posted Oct 31, 2015
Thanks to Expedia the shuttle from airport to hotel was amazing with Rafael who spoke to us about the island and stopped and places for us to take pictures very professional. Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant reservations can be a better system but the entertainment for the night kept us going through out the night. We had marina sweet and was amazing to wake up every morning with a beautiful view. Great trip !!!!

We spent a week at the resort and the staff were friendly, and very helpful with directions around the Island. Kerline works in the one of the restaurant on the resort, she was especially nice. I will be going back next year.
