Large rooms with excellent viewsPosted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: Clean and close to bars and Bugibba.
Location: In a quiet area with bars, a 15 minute hilly walk to Bugibba, with a flat, lovely coastal walk which takes about 30 minutes.
The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were large with a lovely balcony with an amazing view over the sea and the swimming pool. There was sun first thing in the morning but not in the afternoon, however, this was a welcome relief. The rooms were cleaned and the towels changed every day. Self catering facilities were good with everything we needed and they provided cleaning equipment. The airconditioning in the living area and bedroom was very efficient although a little noisy for sleeping but the rooms were large and airy so we just turned them off at night. The safe was good value at 2 Euros a day. Towels at the swimming pool to hire for a deposit of 5 Euros each and the swimming pool area was cleaned and serviced by staff continually during the day. Swimming was between 9am and 7pm (as they added chemicals at 7pm) but the area was open til 9pm. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas were available and there was sun round the pool until around 7.30pm at the end of July. A bus stop was just outside the hotel, with regular buses to all areas.

Great long weekend in the sunPosted Jun 28, 2017
Pros: Beach and pool facilities. Friendly staff. Spacious room.
Cons: Restaurant and bar. Update furniture.
Recently visited with my mum for a girly long weekend. We picked Sunny Coast based on the pool and beach, and it did not disappoint. The staff were very attentive and helpful, and kept the facilities in a great condition. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was very large - we had booked a one bedroom apartment, and were pleased with how spacious it was. The only downside to the room was the furniture on the balcony which was a bit dated and broken and could do with updating. The local area was nice, quite a few bars, restaurants and shops, and with the great beach facilities we didn't feel the need to have to travel the island much, however the bus service is good. The restaurant/bar in the hotel, Butchers Grill, was disappointing, I wouldn't recommend the breakfast here and the bar was not well staffed, they took my order and then disappeared to the restaurant to start clearing tables rather then getting the drinks. All in all, we were happy with our stay!

Great size room with excellent sea viewPosted May 4, 2017
Pros: Room amenities more than adequate, great pool area which is detached from hotel but self sufficient with bars and cafe, good place to spend your day.
Location: Close to a number of good quality restaurants and bars. located next to public transport links making the rest of Malta easily accessible.
Had a very pleasant 7 day stay at the Sunny Coast resort, hotel was more than adequate and well located not in the middle of the action but within a short walk.
Great stay...Great locationPosted Apr 23, 2017 on Hotels
We have just returned from a stay as a family of four. I have to say the 1 bed apartment with sofa bed was compact. However there was more room if you closed the sofa bed up. The view is beautiful. The local area is great lots of shops and an Iceland nearby. There is also not much traffic there so great if your driving. Other areas like sliema can be quite busy and you can left in traffic for uptown 30 minutes. We enjoyed our stay however the breakfast is extra at 5.50 euros. We only had it once as it was not a buffet but cooked to order. We thought the portion was small and therefore didnt bother but used the kettle and toaster in the room. The rooms are clean just be aware if you have an evening flight then check out is at 10 but they let you stay in the pool area which was comfy enough. Bugibba is just around the corner plenty of places to eat. There is no beach in front of the hotel but a rocky area. Overall a good hotel, great for exploring the island. Be sure to get a sea view. It's a good price.

The location is very convenient to many restaurants and markets. The rooms are very worn and dated, but functional. The doors stick in the door jams, so no quiet entry is possible. The pool and spa are very relaxing, and conveniently across the parking lot.

We were very pleased with our room- clean, spacious, good wi-fi and kitchen facilities, with a balcony looking out to the sea. Walls are thin though and closing any door makes quite a loud sound. Indoor pool was nice and relaxing, although the chlorine was very strong. It was too cold to use the outdoor pool but this area looked nice. 4pm check-in is late so earlier check-ins would be appreciated, but we were able to store our luggage while the room was being made ready and the lady who checked us in was lovely (unfortunately I've forgotten her name). There is a bus stop right outside and numerous restaurants and tour operators along the road. Location is probably a bit far for first time visitors to Malta using public transport- buses not always on time, didn't always stop for passengers! Overall we would recommend this resort and were happy with our stay
Not great for off-seasonPosted Apr 12, 2017 on Hotels
Families with children should know the indoor pool hours for children are restricted even midday and they are enforced. My daughter was kicked out of the pool at 1800 on Tuesday only for the open pool to sit empty 30 minutes later. Not ideal during the off-season when there is nowhere else to swim. See photo for hours. Also a new pair of sneakers dissappeared from our closet sometime during our last day. Location is close to the bus stop but the buses are really crowded even off-season

nice hotel, nice area, rocky beachPosted Apr 10, 2017
Pros: nice hotel, nice area, easy transport route to everywhere. mini market, iceland, restaurants.
Cons: indoor pool time for kids, need more flexibility. heating on outdoor pool need more buses 45 to Valetta on peak time and return
Location: mini market, Iceland nearby, bus stop outside. restaurants around. excursion trips sold near the hotel. hop on and hop off bus
outdoor pool is great but cold water during April. indoor pool too small and kids time is inflexible and short. nice small restaurant next door that caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner. many other restaurants nearby. bus stop just outside. easy access to everywhere. friendly people.
