Great Service!Posted Sep 29, 2015
After booking I called and requested the highest floor and best position for my room, for watching the lunar eclipse. Steph was very responsive to my desires and made me feel like I was a VIP. The hotel was in a good location, with great amenities and beautiful views. For the price, this place is amazing!

Great hotel on the beachPosted Sep 29, 2015
I stay at the Grand Plaza a couple of times a year and love it. The staff at the hotel, restaurant and bar are the best...very personable and helpful. The hotel does need new bedding -- the bed covers had small couple of tears in them.

Hotel Right on the Beach!!!Posted Sep 28, 2015
Cons: Pool could be bigger
Location: It is a lovely area and St Petersburg is about 10-15 minutes away...great city, be sure to check out the Chihuly Exhibit!
Be sure to get a room with Gulf View....Fantastic...great sunsets. We went out and sat on our balcony every day!!! also be sure to checkout the revolving restaurant at the top...they do Lunch which is reasonably priced. I would stay there again!!

Pros: close to beach
Cons: Service, I had booked a gulf view and was "upgraded" to a coastal view. Not happy about that, corner room with akward furniture layout.

our summer vacation home.Posted Sep 24, 2015
Pros: the new 11th floor was terrific. wish I would have taken pictures. the food was fabulous and my wife raved about the "cool cucumber" drink.
Cons: how can we enjoy room service on our balcony without a table? install adjustable louvres on heat/cool systems so air doesn't blow directly on bed!
Location: fantastic location right on beach with parasailing, jet skiing, swimming and sunbathing!
this was our 3rd year stay and it just never disappoints. the food is always great, the proximity to the beach is ideal and the service is always great.

To expensive for what it is.Posted Sep 22, 2015
I reserved the room more than one month in advance. I felt that it wasn't the room that I paid for. Also I had to wait too much for the room. At the rooftop restaurant ( very expensive) the waitress didn't asked my name, so we sat down at the bar for more than 40 minutes waiting for a table an some people who came later than us had table earlier, so I had to go and call the manager to have a table. Really bad experience.

ParkingPosted Sep 20, 2015
They only provide peeking for one cat only, second case can park on liquor store across the street, not a new modern resort building but, it was very nice..

Engaging atmosphere ♥Posted Sep 17, 2015
Pros: Odd thing to love but I loved the shutters in the room and that every room has a balcony.
Cons: It could be up updated a bit as it seems it is starting to get a little old
Location: We did a lot of walking on the beach, tons of seashells if you enjoy seashelling
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and it now holds a special place in my heart because we got engaged here this weekend :) The hotel is older and does show a bit of wear, we were on the second floor and had a view of a roof top with a glimpse of the beach in the distance. We ate at Spinners (at sunset, where he proposed) and the service was amazing! I highly recommend making reservations about 15-20 mins prior to sunset, the view of St. Petersburgh and the sunset is stunning :)
