Nice hotel but no beach access

Nice hotel with a friendly staff . Only down side is , no beach access from hotel property itself and additional parking fees while staying on their property .

Great location.

Pros: The friendly staff, and location.
Cons: The room was a bit too cold.
Location: I was happy with the location. I was a brief walk from anything I needed or wanted.
I enjoyed my stay. I think the location offers the best of both worlds. IT was a block away from the beach, but close enough for a pleasant walk to all the major happenings, as well as the beach. The service was great, the staff could not have been nicer.

Overpriced and disgusting!!!!! Old hotel!!!

This hotel need renovating or gutted out. The room set up is okay, but it was hot and humid. And with a high humidity I am almost positive there is mold growing somewhere. Our room had roaches and bugs in the bathroom (dead and alive).. Once we attempted to kill them they scattered to under the toilet.. It felt so nasty, I was afraid to pull the covers back to see if there were bed bugs. The staff was very friendly and understanding. The restaurant staff was great as well. The pool is nice and has a great scenery, the room just did it for us, and I'm not the picky type. So once we complained about our room, they changed us to a different room. Once we got in that room there were more bugs and gnats flying over my head. By that time we were over it!! So they front desk cancelled our rooms but caused another hold on our account. The next day was Sunday so if it weren't for my friend to miraculously have another usable card to another hotel.. We would be stuck without money because of the hold that could not be taken off immediately. Anyways, we got to a much better hotel (Marriott Sand Key) and it was cheaper, bigger, and MUCH cleaner and nicer!! AND we had views of the ocean. However, once we called back to Holiday Inn, the manager made a call to my bank and got my funds released immediately. The staff at this hotel was awesome, the hotel itself was just disgusting and too pricey and I would not recommended it at all.

We had a pool side room looking out at the beach. It was our wedding anniversary! When we checked in & told them that we were celebrating 61 yrs. they gave us 2 drink tickets. We have been coming to Clearwater Beach since our move to the Villages in 1998 & bring our family every time they visit. First time at your hotel. It was wonderful!

Pool towels and crowded beach

Really frustrating that there are no pool towels at pool after 5. It is not good to have to run to desk half naked being wet and cold due to air conditioning. Pool to nice to not provide towels during hours of operation. Not hotel fault but beach is really crowded in Clearwater. Hard to keep track of kids in ocean. Location pretty good .5 mile to pier but anything you could want in between.

Not what I expected

There is no beach, so beware of how the advertisement reads . I found Roaches in my room. The front desk asked why I was so upset and after insisting he finally moved us to a new room. That room had issues as well but thankfully no bugs. There are a lot of maintenance needs that don't seem to be addressed. The pool and outside grounds were the highlight of the property. The overnight front desk associate who checked us in was very helpful when we arrived 5 hour late due to flight delays. But none of that makes up for finding roaches crawling on the wall!

The hotel feels outdated in need of refurbishment, the building site next door is overbearing and impacts greatly on enjoyment the outdoor pool. The restaurant staff very slow...

Close to much 1000' from beach

Encountered one extremely rude employee checking in. Went back later and switched rooms and that employee was much better. The view were used to is now obstructed my a monstrosity being built next door,complete shade at pool from 5pm on due to that. Had a 1am fire/exit the building alarm, which was a downer. Over still a good place but could stand to tighten things up.
