Convenient hotel but disappointed!

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Pros: Hyatt Regency. It's beachfront.
Cons: Newer decorations. Nicer lobby. Cleaner facility.
Location: The beach is perfect. Shopping. Lot of activities at night!!!
Disappointing... I've stayed at several Hyatt Regency and this one is not to the usual standard. Decoration is very boring not very new... The lobby is not GRAND as the other places. The facilities are very disappointed. Not very nice and clean...

Not worth the money

Posted Aug 6, 2016
Disappointed, after paying about $500 CDN a night this is not an upscale hotel, asked what the resort fees are for and a few of the items were either never provided that were supposedly included or never told about. The rooms are larger than most hotels but you do not feel like you are staying at a $500 per night hotel, for this reason I was disappointed, should have stayed at the Sand Pearl or Opal Sands

I sincerely apologize that you did not have a great experience at our resort. This is not the sort of experience we want our guests to have while staying at our resort. Your comments regarding the resort fee have been shared with our Management team. We would love to have another opportunity in the future to welcome you back so you can experience our true Hyatt hospitality. Brock S. - A Guest Relations Associate

Beach vacation with kids

Posted Aug 3, 2016
This place is extraordinarily convenient for heading to the beach every day. Complimentary towels for the beach, $30 cabana rentals, an awesome sky terrace on the 16th floor which has the hot tub and contemporary seating. Hardly ever see people up there. We paid just shy of $300 in hotel/resort fees for 6 days which was a little steep but it included parking. Only downside was no complimentary breakfast. Take advantage of your full kitchen! There's a full grocery store about 1 mile away. So glad to have stayed here. We've stayed on some of the smaller, less expensive hotels on the beachfront but this was my favorite if you can get a great room rate.

Perfect location and the staff was amazing.

Posted Aug 1, 2016
Pros: Location and staff were exceptional
Cons: Checking rooms before guests come in should be par for the course. The decor also needs a desperate make over.
Location: the perfect location and tons to do near by. There was no need for a car because everything was within walking distance
although the staff was trying their hardest to fix a bad situation it was very disappointing especially for a hotel with such a huge reputation. We had to change our room three times because the first room had water soaked carpets and the second room had damp carpets. We only got situated in our room on the 2nd day which was very disappointing since your paying a premium rate and one day is already wasted because your busy moving rooms. At the end of the trip they lost my valet keys and it took over 45 minutes to find them. The staff was absolutely 5 start and tried very hard to accommodate us every time but unfortunately for the caliber of the hotel these are things that shouldn't happen more than once. I do strongly feel that they should've comped us something in return for the inconvience of having to change rooms so many time. The Hyatt is in the perfect location and I'm already planning my next trip to Clearwater Beach but because of the hotel issues it unfortunately won't be at this property. Note to manager - someone besides the housekeeping manager should've dealt with our situation and made it right - as customers paying a premium for our trip, the events should've been dealt with a general manager. Overall the hotel needs to be upgraded but if it wasn't for the bad situations that happened I would've happily stayed there again

Expected more...

Posted Jul 24, 2016
The hotel is in a great location and convenient to many sightseeing activities. The swimming pool is rather small and can be quite congested when at high occupancy. The premium room layout is awkward. I expected more at these rates. The safe is directly in the center of the closet floor making it difficult to store luggage. The tub is up too high for people with small kids. It feels quite narrow with 2 kids and 2 adults. The hotel staff was nice and very accommodating. I read previous reviews on parking and resort fees so be prepared for a large exit tab.

Pros: None
A very regular hotel, max 3 star rating. The pool was small , full of small kids. There wasn't much going on around the hotel area.

Average hotel on the beach

Posted Jul 18, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Appearance, common areas, room showers.
Location: Plenty of good restaurants, entertainment and shopping for souvenirs.
Hyatt Regency hotel expectation were for a hotel which will have a lasting impression. Instead we got a stay in a regular room in a simple hotel, there the only one advantage was its location.
