Comfortable condo golf resortPosted Oct 4, 2015
Stayed here for a wedding weekend. Resort is clean and well maintained. Aging decor but comfortable. Sprawling grounds with convenient tram; however, the tram could take about 30min for pick up. It is much better to have a car, there is plenty of parking. Beware that there are NO elevators and NO umbrellas to borrow or even buy. Which is really strange because it is a golf resort. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The condo was well stocked but bottle water was $2 each, best to buy a case from the local supermarket. Would stay here again and beautiful grounds for events.

Weekend GetawayPosted Sep 28, 2015
My daugter & I went here for a spa trip. People should know this is NOT a hotel it is a resort in the vein of Hilton Head/Sea Pines. We stayed in at "suite" which was in actuality a condo w/ kitchen. It was spacious & comfortable. The building is 3 floors w/ no elevator which was no issue for us, but might be for some. My only negative is the pillows & bed were a little uncomfortable.

Great resort for familiesPosted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: It was quiet and offered a lot for the family to do.
Cons: The housing is older, but very well maintained and clean.
Location: If you are staying for any length of time, I would suggest getting the CityPASS, which offers the zoo, Busch Gardens, & Clearwater & Florida aquariums
I had stayed at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, VA, so was pleased to find that they had a sister property in the vicinity of our vacation destination of Tampa/St. Pete. We got a great rate from Expedia for an Executive Suite. This place is perfect if you have your own car. It was in a nice neighborhood and had 1000 acres, so was self-contained. There are 5 pools and the resort offers golf and tennis. For the family and kids, they also have a playground, mini-golf, fishing and a nature trail and lots of activities at the Loch Ness pool. We stayed in one of the building near the Loch Ness pool and spent a lot of time there. They have two slides, a beach with a walk-in waterfront for the little ones and the pool is only 4.5 feet at the deepest point so is very manageable for children of any size. They also have a grill and cabana for meals, snacks or drinks. At the pool they also have bikes for rent, games for the kids and activities, like a sandcastle contest. There is a shuttle to get you around on the property to your building and the multiple clubhouses, steak house, grill, market or pools and golf and tennis. The location is in Palm Harbor, north of Clearwater and St. Petersburg and west of Tampa.
