Nice hotel close to the waterPosted Oct 4, 2015
Hotel rooms are really beautiful, clean and full of comfort. Pool is nice and very active with pleasant alive music. Disappointed for: staff not too friendly; ocean water not so clear (we expected kind of Hawaii beaches and water).

Relaxing and refreshingPosted Oct 1, 2015
We stayed at Shephards for two nights on the tail end of a long road trip around Florida. The hotel was clean and lively. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night and were pleasantly surprised to hear they had live music every day. The music was fun, and I imagine it wasn't too disruptive to those that weren't interested. The bars and restaurant on premise were great. I strongly recommend the buffet for dinner. Fantastic food and great service. The price is higher compared to most buffet style places, but it is worth every penny. This was a great place to stay and wrap up the end of a long vacation. We will be back to Clearwater Beach and Shephards Resort.

Wrong choice for mePosted Sep 27, 2015
Hotel was nice. Room seemed nice. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. We stayed Mon -Sat. Mon-thurs Night the air conditioning did not work in our room. They couldn't give us another room because they were fully booked. They tried to fix it several times. At almost midnight on Thursday night they switched out the air-conditioning. To my surprise it took only about 20 minutes-which left me thinking why didn't they just do this Monday night!? So you think I'd be able to get some sleep then right? Wrong! The nightclub is open from Thursday to Sunday this time year. They play from 10 PM to 3 AM. We could hear the music AND FEEL the vibration of the music in our room. All I wanted was a little rest and relaxation. Between the AC AND THE NIGHTCLUB I got none. I liked Clearwater but will not stay at Shepards next time.

Beach Side Entertainment ResortPosted Sep 26, 2015
Pros: The pool area.
Cons: Better restaurant. More electrical outlets in rooms or provide extension cords.
Location: It is a very nice location, close to Clearwater Beach and lots of shops.
Nice resort with a beautiful pool area with pool bar. Pool doesn't open till 9AM. Small beach area not quite on the Gulf. Tiki bar and pool bar serve food, but main restaurant only has a dinner buffet and it is $32 per person. The only breakfast is a room service breakfast or going to the little store and buying something. Rooms are clean and updated. Flat screen TV is nice size. Ours was so dark it was hard watching it. Nothing on remote to brighten it up. Electrical outlet on one side of bed with cord stretching from other side of bed to plug the lamp into. We had to use our own adapter to be able to plug C-Pap machine into outlet also. Free internet, but it was a coming and going thing. Loud entertainment afternoon and evening by pool, sometimes till 2 AM. We would not return because there are other resorts that are more comfortable.

Perfect Hotel for our Bachelorette Party WeekendPosted Sep 13, 2015
If you're looking for a lively, party atmosphere, this is the place to stay. I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the basic rooms were. If you're looking for a fun party atmosphere with a great pool, live entertainment, the beach, good food, and a club all at the same location, this is it. Not a great place for kids during the holiday weekends though.

Great place to be entertainedPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The atmosphere
Cons: They have mastered resort
Location: The hotel is on Clearwater beach known for their white sandy PPP"".. beaches.
Shepard's knows how to manage a resort. Huge buffets, tiki, margarita bars are a way to start the evening. Huge outdoor dining, drinking area including couches for your parties enjoyment. Live live music and live DJ spinning the dance music. Parking is done by valet. The hotel is on the a white sandy beach. Could not find a better place to hang for a weekend.

Met all of our needs and expectationsPosted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: the layout. The selections of bars, entertainment, and restaurants. Seafood buffet is amazing and totally worth the price.
Cons: Elevator wait times can be long sometimes. Glad there are stairs next to it. The beach can use a little renovation/upgrade.
Location: Speedway across the street is so nice and the iHop next door. Pier is less than a mile away. and lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
Great hotel if you're there for a Bachelor party. Otherwise, be aware of loud (good) music till late in the night. Full amenities and great layout of everything. I would definitely come back!
