Good location close to beach and restaurants.

Pros: We like the location of the Sirata but we are considering looking at other hotels for next year.
Cons: Tidying up bathrooms and kitchen areas and more attention to cleanliness.
Location: Good restaurants, good transport system to St Petersburg and other beaches, shopping mall etc.
Why is this an Expedia VIP hotel when no benefits are offered at all, not even a cup of coffee. Last year we were given a dirty room and thanks to Delbert at Expedia we were given an upgrade and a free meal in the hotel restaurant. One of the hotel pools was out of action but no warning was given on checking in. Whilst the reception area has been given a facelift and our room had been redecorated, the bathroom and kitchen area left a lot to be desired. Dehumidifiers had been installed in the rooms which were extremely noisy which, along with a noisy refrigerator and air conditioning, made sleep very difficult.

Pros: Noting
Bad experience ever. Mike who was the supervisor in charge was so disrespectful, no help at all, never again. The room description says Non-Smoking room and you can smell cigarettes everywhere.

Hotel is a great location. The beach was quiet. One of the pools were closed while we stayed there, so we took advantage of the beach and hammock. Overall it was a nice stay.

We needed a relaxing weekend. This was it!

Pros: The location, my room and the customer service.
Cons: Since they were so busy we were delayed with our check in because the room was not ready but We ate at one of several restaurants & watched sunset.
We received a suite with a wonderful view instead of just a room. My request was for a view of the water. The hotel was very busy that weekend with weddings and a convention so I was very happy they met my request and gave us a suite also.

Location: Great beach. Restaurants close. Shell key excursion. Fort DeSoto beaches are awesome.
Great stay. Upgraded room. Only complaint was at the beach grill-Rum Runners-very thin (1/4") "grouper" sandwich. Really?

The staff, workers were top notch. Rooms were comfortable and pretty clean. Although not exactly a new hotel, it seems to be well cared for. So, why the "OK" rating? At least two of the hotel buildings run perpendicular to the shoreline. Our first room had a balcony overlooking a parking lot and only a very partial view of the water (outside the front door of our room). After meeting with hotel management we were moved to a room facing the shoreline. Of course this was an added charge. There is also an $8.00 per day charge to park a car which is a way to get a few more dollars out of their guests. Our last surprise was to find the hotel charges a fee to use their lounge cabanas along the beach. AND one row of the loungers was closer by about 15 feet closer to the water than the other row. You got it: a higher charge for that row! These were in our opinion a poor way to treat their guests. Would I recommend this hotel to others? Yes, but I would want them to know ahead of time the ways the hotel pads their wallets. It's not like the hotel rooms are bargain priced and the management has to make up the difference by charging for every misc. thing. The room prices are fair and are similar to others in the area so why all the extra extras?

Comfortable Beds and great beach front location.

Pros: 3 pools, 3 restaurants, oceanfront, close to many stores, Johns Pass music festival, many other attractions near by

We found it strange that there was no curtains in the window facing the walkway and door. Anyone could walk by and see inside our room! We put a sheet up on the window to avoid invasion of privacy. Second night, someone was trying to get into our room and it appears the hotel staff gave the wrong room number. It was midnight and we were woken up to someone trying to get in our room. Second issue was the day of our check out which is 11:00 am - the maid barged in our room at 9 am! We were screaming that we weren't ready but she continued to open up the door. The resort was relaxed and we enjoyed the restaurants, hot tub, and 3 pools. Overall, an average experience.
