Seen in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Salvador Dali Museum is a pretty cool place indeed!
This is a shot of the helical staircase inside. Dali was obsessed with spirals especially the shape of the DNA molecule. This smallish museum packs a big punch and is very active and engaging with the community as well as its out of town visitors. Also a great place to have a private event.
#architecture The Salvador Dali Museum is a smallish museum that packs a big punch and is very active and engaging with the community as well as its out of town visitors.
A great place to have a private event.
We went on a Sunday which is apparently the busiest day of the week.
The Architecture -
The Building was designed by architect Yann Weymouth and was designed to North Shore Park in downtown St Pete - today we saw a dolphin and in the past we have seen manatees as well - various events and concerts throughout the year/exercise paths/tennis courts/swimming complex/beach/kids playground and this beautiful view means there is something for everyone to enjoy here #endlesssummer #waterlust #AquaTrove
A novel way for museum goers to dispose of their admission bracelets. This isn't the coolest picture, but there's just something about this tradition that touches my heart. This is a Dali Wish Tree outside of the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. After visiting the art museum, visitors can tour the grounds and leave behind their wrist bands on the Dali Wish Tree. Seeing all the bands makes me wonder what all the others before me wished for. I hope their wishes come true! At the Municipal Marina in Downtown St Petersburg, Florida
#Sunrise St. Petersburg, Florida never popped up on my radar until I was visiting friends over the summer. Recently, my friends and I graduated from PT school and moved all over the country/state, so it was wonderful to visit them in a place I've never been. The Dali Museum totally surprised me! I visited the museum in Barcelona, which included more of his works, but this was also exciting to visit. Definitely a place to check out if you ever make it to the Florida west coast. #localgem #roadtrip I moustache you a question but I'm shaving it for later !
I know, I know... I hear your groans. It's an Oldy but a ... well an oldy anyway.
The Dali Museum has this GIANT representation of Salvador's flamboyant View from inside the museum cafe (I recommend the Gazpacho)
A pleasant surprise! The #Dali #museum is absolutely worth the price admission. The grounds and #architecture are as thoughtfully curated as the artwork. Perhaps a little crowded but what a ridiculous complaint...too many people want to look at beautiful #art in a beautiful #building. What a world we live in ✌️ St. Petersburg has multiple miles of bay-side biking and walking trails. There is also parks with sculptures like this one, playgrounds, basketball courts, and even a public swimming pool. We had such a blast riding bikes along the water! Charming bits of History, Design, & Nature combine for a Lovely walk around Greenwood cemetery and the encompassing Roser Park Neighborhood. A great suggestion from St Petersburg's own Buffalo Gal Designed to withstand a category 3 hurricane, the new home for St. Petersburg's Dali Museum ( home to a very impressive and costly collection of artwork by surrealist Salvador Dali) uniquely highlights the Spanish painter's talents and interests. Even if you're not a fan of the Surrealist Movement, this building, including a spiral helix staircase inside, is impressive. Designed by architect Yann Weymouth of HOK, the building combines the rational with the fantastical: a simple rectangle with 18-inch thick hurricane-proof walls out of which erupts a large free-form geodesic glass bubble known as the “enigma”. The “enigma”, which is made up of 1,062 triangular pieces of glass, stands 75 feet at its tallest point.

Small but beautiful museum of Dale Chihuly pieces. Be sure to get the combo ticket so you can also see the Morean glass-blowing demonstrations! The Helical Staircase inside the Dali Museum. Passed by this hotel while on business in St Petersburg, FL. It was so cool looking, I had to turn around and take a photo of it. Don't know much about the hotel other than it looks a little run-down and crazy old. We got to experience the waterfront in St. Petersburgh near the Pier today. Gorgeous day with farmers market, race, sailing, and planes taking off near the Dali Museum. Great food and atmosphere!!! 10 sake bombs lined up and ready for nine of your best friends! Sake Bomb 2.0 is a fun place for group interactive drinking. They also have some pretty cool wall art that rotates on a regular basis so it is always fresh. No food but they let you order in.
#cocktail 🍹 A smaller museum with an impressive Dali collection. I recommend the audio tour which is free (included with admission). Beautiful glass work at Chihuly St Pete St. Petersburg was wonderfully decorated in the park with a tree, lights, sleigh with reindeer and a small skating rink. You must make reservations and BYOB, but the ride is amazing. Aesthetics Crescent Heights neighborhood at Halloween. Pumpkins, pumpkins in the air. Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere! the wishing tree at the Dali Museum Downtown St Petersburg has something for everyone! Early morning sunrise over the Gulf, morning jog around the waterfront, marina, Dali museum, shops, restaurants, breweries and a lot of art! Oh, and it is dog friendly! St. Petersburg Municipal Marina located on the western side of Tampa Bay, on the point of Demens Landing, in the heart of St. Petersburg's beautiful downtown waterfront district. Locale Market in downtown St. Petersburg is a foodie paradise. Shop, dine, drink and browse all at this hyper-trendy multi-level food extravaganza. Aviation history was made in St. Petersburg On January 1, 1914 when the first commercial airline took off from St. Petersburg and landed to a crowd of over 3000 in Tampa.
Tony Jannus flew the Benoist watercraft 25 minutes to Tampa. A replica of the Benoist that was flown on 75th anniversary hangs from the ceiling. Me. Janus was killed 1916 in Germany while teaching two pilots. The Tony Jannus award is given out every year to recognize the most outstanding person in commercial aviation.
The Museum also has Schader's Little Cooperstown, the world largest collection of autographed baseballs that is in the Guinness Book of Worlds Records at more 5000.
Look out over the St. Pete Grand Prix race course straightaway by the water. Looking out from where Dali museum and Performing Arts Center are. Pretty cool event near the end of March every year. St Petersburg, FL - Holiday Displays (Previous Chihuly Gallery Location)
St Petersburg’s waterfront area is full of options for fun and relaxation. Visiting during the winter holidays provides the added benefit of viewing the city’s holiday displays.
