Cosy, very central

Posted Sep 27, 2015 on Hotels
Excellent location, excellent staff. The room (23) was cosy and nice - had all the necessary things plus personal sauna and jacuzzi. The breakfast starts at 8, which is a little too late, and was rather modest in selection, but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants around as alternative.

Hotel on the River Moika

Posted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Cannot think of a thing personally.
Location: Savior on Spilled Bllod, Kazan Catherdreal, Rover Boat tours, Hermitage Museum, Russian Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress, an many restaurants.
This is one hotel that I highly recommend from the front dek being so noice and helpful along with the morning breakfast, first rate to me. If you are looking for a large standard room, this may not be the place for you, but I was in Saint Petersburg for 5 days and only slept and showered there while the rest of trhe time was out exploring what all the City has to offer and let me say, it is plenty. Many museums and catherdrals to visit, from the Hermitage Musuem, Peterhof, Peter and Paul Fortress to name a few. Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, one amazing place, is also close, about a 5 minute walk. Many great restaurants as well, from Jamie Oliver's place to other local Pectopah's and Cafe's. I recommend St. Petersburg Cafe as one place to visit, near Savior in Spilled Blood and along trhe river as well.

Great location

Pros: Nice little hotel. Cheap, great staff and right on a canal halfway between the Winter Palace and Cathedral of the Spilled Blood. Awesome.
Location: About two blocks in the direction of the Winter Palace there was a great little bar on the same street. I forget the name, but the staff were great.
Great hotel, great location. Spent 4 nights there and would go back if ever in St. Petersburg.

Great location

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Quality of breakfast. Bigger rooms.
Location: The hotel is brilliantly placed, 3 mins walk to the church of the Spilled Blood and 5-6 mins walk to the Hermitage. Good restaurants close by.
The hotel is brilliantly placed, 3 mins walk to the church of the Spilled Blood and 5-6 mins walk to the Hermitage and on a quiet courtyard. The hotel is lacking in amenities. Staff were pleasant and helpful when asked. The room was clean and tidy but much smaller than we expected (we were in a twin) - not a lot of room to move around which was fine as we didn't really plan to spend much time in the room. Breakfast was also very under whelming. Poor presented and no quality items - for £100 a night for the room we expected a better quality of breakfast. Also the space for breakfast is small and too many chairs in the room for the number of tables there - so the chairs get in the way. Perfectly fine but we went out for breakfast on most days.

Comfort, location, and price all as advertised

Posted Sep 28, 2014 on Hotels
Affordable and friendly staff who were most helpful. Breakfasts were just fine but a little crowded. Being seniors would have enjoyed lift going down to ground floor, but got good help with luggage. Short walks to major sights. Rained one day but no umbrellas available - would have been a welcome treat.

Fab location great for the independent traveller

Great location - 5 minutes walk to the Church of the Spilled Blood, 7 minutes walk to the Hermitage, 13 minutes walk along Gridobeva Canal to the Nevsky Prospect Metro or St Issacs. On a quiet part of the Moyka embankment close to the Dutch, French and Japanese Consulates. 24 hour reception, very helpful receptionists who also speak english. Standard room has a nice bathroom, hair dryer, kettle, water cooler. Drinking from the tap in St P is not recommended. Breafast is adequate with a selection of cold meats, cereal, yogurt, fresh bread , 2 hot dishes , fresh fruit and salad etc . Breakfast seating area is small but this appears to be a feature of the Nevsky chain. If full, there is a more space on the ground floor. Carpets are clean but perhaps need updating. Fantastic value on the non refundable rate. If you want 5 star luxury this is not for you. Would recommend. Nice touch with birthday chocs and champagne. The Stolle Pie Cafe is 3 minutes away
