Good value for money

For the price, this place is pretty good. I'd put it in the "get what you pay for" category. Very centrally located and accessible to all the main sights. Room is bare bones but clean and comfortable enough. Hot water isn't always working and they're pretty stingy with the towels and they didn't change the sheets during my 5-day stay. The hotel itself is hard to find on the street: there is only a small red sign in Russian on the door (there's a smaller sign on the buzzer in English that tells you to ring 7B). The building is a little scary and when you get in it looks like a bombed out Brooklyn warehouse apartment building with lots of exposed concrete, but it's fine when you get to the actual hotel part. Staff are very friendly but don't speak English, though I could usually find a way to communicate. Small breakfast is included. Overall very low-end of the scale in terms of quality, but if you're on a budget and all you want is a clean, safe place to crash while seeing St. Petersburg, this place is a pretty good deal.
