Nice hotel in country side and good transport.Posted Aug 19, 2016
Facilities are good, very clean and tidy rooms. You have everyday fresh linen and towels. No many staff speak English but they tried very hard to help you. My daughter enjoyed the facilities of gym, sauna and swimming pools.

Hotel for people who value sport activity & relaxPosted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Comfort,friendlyness of staff,low price,free sports-facilities,Saune serve-yourself,easy access by bus
Cons: There's not much too complain about, since you cannot stop children of that age running around, and: it#s a sport-hotel
Location: Near the Hotel with its facilities is also a wood with Park,so it's also a good place for romantic meetings.Next Metro is Ladoshski Vokzal(25 min away
Hotel is out of town, some 4 or 5 km,i.e. some 25 mins from Ladoshski Vokzal(train-station),connected frequently by Marshrutka-buses Nr.531,532,533(and others),from bus-stop some 3 mins to Hotel..Staff at reception is speaking English and is very helpfull in any way.Sports facilities, like swimming-pool,Sauna are for free, also Business-Center with Internet & printer,WiFi inroom free, breakfast typically Russian buffet, from 7 to 10.30.If you have an early flight from LED, it's not the best location, but for other purposes - always with pleasure again.Room was comfortable.Prices in restaurant reasonable. The only "problem":there were many young kids, running through the floors and being very loud, also producing noise at breakfast.

IT CAN BE ONLY JUST ONE STAR HOTEL...Posted May 8, 2014 on Hotels
TOO FAR TO CENTER, HARD TO FIND, BREAKFAST IS VERY BAD, STYLE OF ROOMS AND HOTEL IS VERY COLD, LIKE HOSPITAL. SAUNA, SWIMMING POOL AND ALL YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA. NOT SATISFIED AT ALL.
Perfect or Terrible depending on your needsPosted Aug 13, 2012 on Hotels
This was the "nicest" hotel I stayed in in St. Petersburg, but there is literally nothing nearby (not even a coffee shop). One can, in theory, hail a bus to the metro or Eastward, but none of the busses stopped for me, and I had to take a cab. That said, the location seemed safe enough.

exceptional value if you can commutePosted May 12, 2011 on Hotels
My week long stay at Petro Sport was perfect for me...the hotel is a mix between a better IBIS and a Holiday Inn ...with a BIG, modren top qulaity health club attached to the htoel. Olga is the hotel manager and is a top quality professional..I do not speak a word of Russian...Olga and front desk staff were very helpfull....reading other reviews and being from the USA ...I wa snot sure waht to expect..but all turned out well due to hotle staff... There is ONE challenge with this hotel...it is a suburban hotel..it is 25 minutes from hotel to train station downtown in rush hour...but if you need a low price and the luxury of a world class sports facilicity, , the bus, subway and/or taxi commute to sights is worth th the effort. Again, I emphasize that the key to a perfect stay is to contact Olga and make arrangments for what you want or need to see....few places in the world are as interesting as St Petersburg, Russia.

Great value for the pricePosted Jan 22, 2011 on Hotels
Hotel is conveniently located just outside of St Petersburg, only 15 min drive from the city centre. Very nice and clean. Free internet, but you need to bring your own network cable, as there is no wireless in the room. Breakfast is not included and could be better for the price, not too much choice. The restaurant is not too bad. Great spa but the price is rather expensive. Use of gym facilities is of extra charge. Overall - I would stay there again.

Too far out and unfriendly staffPosted Jun 12, 2008
Don't stay there if being near the centre is important. Taxis are incredibly expensive and riding the metro and bus is a depressing experience in my view. Stay near the centre the added money is worth it. Also the hotel is a "Motel" it is thus written on the advertising banner so it was expensive for what it is. You have to pay for gym etc 700 rubles each time-a rip off!

Too far outPosted May 27, 2008
Nice hotel, very clean and modern with good facilities. Ideal for business people with own transport or unlimited budget for taxis, but too far out for easily getting to St petersburg or airport. Hotel provide taxi booking service slightly cheaper,as a guide about 1500 roubles (35 pounds) to airport (40 mins) and about 1000 (25 pounds)to town (25 mins). Metro and train not an easy option, hotel is on a highway. Nothing else in vicinity to do. Good as a retreat or short stay, but avoid if you're on a budget.

The New Petro Sport HotelPosted Apr 9, 2008
The Metro Sport Hotel is located on the rim road that circles the outer edge of city. If you are adventurous, you can ride the bus to the Metro Station. Buses 531, 532, 533, 429 all take you to the Ladozhskaya Metro Station. The bus stop is about 150 meters from the hotel. The bus cost 22 rubles. There are also shuttles and vans which are a little more, maybe 30 rubles. So for about a buck you can ride the bus. The Metro now costs 17 rubles, under a dollar. The Metro Sport Hotel has a restaurant, breakfast was included in my stay. The restaurant opens at 7:00 and closes at 11:00pm. There is an open air area to sit and relax and eat or drink or socialize. There is another room off the restaurant for parties. There is also a small intimate area outside the restaurant for dining. There is large indoor area equipped with tennis courts, swimming pool, well equipped weight training, sauna, tanning both, massage. There is an indoor Salon for hair. The cost was very, very reasonable. If you want a quiet place to relax, this is it. The staff was very helpful, both English speaking and Russian speaking. I was able to commuicate with a girl who spoke little English and she helped me much. I appreciate it.
