Walk to the major museumsPosted Sep 16, 2015
Pros: The Concierges.
Cons: Softer mattresses. Despite being a non-smoking hotel we smelled cigarette smoke twice a night around 2am and again around 5am.
Location: Go to the Astoria Hotel and have a beer. The free snacks are enough for dinner.
Essentially kitty-corner from St. Isaac's Cathedral and within 15 min walk to the Hermitage. Bed was very firm and there was a Karaoke Bar every Fri and Sat night in the Ballroom but it shut down promptly at 2300h. DO NOT USE the stairwell to go down to street level because the door opens right into the smoking section of the sidewalk immediately in front of the hotel. The concierges were simply amazing as we had to scramble to get out of the country before our visas expired.

Unfortunately the booking site reverted to the previous month so we had to pay twice for the accomodation. Not happy

Nice hotel in the center of the cityPosted Sep 1, 2015
Location: Location is great. It is very close to most of the sites in the city and easy to find the way back.
It was very close to the tourist sites. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to see, unless it was out of the city. Good restaurants near the hotel also.

Great location and StaffPosted Aug 24, 2015
The hotel is located in great location. The whole staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large, spacious and clean. The hotel is a little dated but the staff and location make up for it.

Weekend in St PeterburgPosted Aug 20, 2015 on Hotels
A perfect hotel to explore the historic sites in St Peterburg, located just beside the Isac Cathedral a few minutes walk from the Winter palace. The rooms were clean and of good standard. Many in the staff spoke english and the breakfast buffé was well worth the money. There was also a small but well equipped gym.

great hotel in a great city !Posted Aug 15, 2015 on Hotels
We were at the hotel for 7 nights. Renaissance Baltic Hotel is located right next to the beautiful Church of Isaac, within walking distance of Nevsky Prospect Street and within walking distance of the Hermitage Palace. Excellent location. The surrounding area has restaurants, cafes and pubs. The room we got was spacious enough, comfortable, very clean and luxurious. The windows of the room turned to a huge patio that is covered by a glass roof very special. The room windows overlooking the lobby, although the room was on the sixth floor. Breakfast is excellent: rich, varied and delicious. We also ate dinner at the hotel. The meals were fine, tasty and rich .. The staff is very friendly, happy to help and solve any problem, giving personal attention. I would like to commend in particular the Mary who served us dinner. Maria intelligent, hospitable and charming. She showed extraordinary care. Svetlana also showed kindness, personal attention and exceptional professional. Michael, the desk clerk, took care of us because our suitcases did not arrive to the airport with us. This is a great hotel in a great city.
