Very famous and hugely expensivePosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: Situation, room, ambiance.
The situation is beautiful and the room was spacious (once slept in by the Queen) and well equipped in all respects other than the shower over the bath, which was a disaster. The staff were very polite and tried to be helpful, but the reception staff particularly were too busy to be closely attentive our particular needs for help (stolen luggage). If you choose to eat in a 2 star Michelin restaurant you have no right to complain about the price, but you do need to be aware that the approach to food is as much about performance art as about eating. Would we recommend it? Only to friends with a relaxed attitude towards normal considerations of value for money.

A perfect place from which to explore Provence.Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: There is nothing that I did not like. It is a beautiful, relaxing place.
Location: The location is perfect and central to many other legendary towns in Provence.
Oustau de Baumaniere exceeded our expectations in every respect. Everything was a pleasant surprise. The grounds are beautiful and complimented the nice rooms. Everything, including the service and the staff was impeccable, yet incredibly comfortable and welcoming. We dined at La Cabro d'Or and are still talking about the incredible we had there. Every course, every item was more than you would expect with one pleasant surprise after another. From Oustau de Baumaniere is was easy to explore vineyards in the region or other towns such as St. Remy, Arles or Aix-en-Provence. Les Baux de Provence itself is truly unique and beautiful. I have already recommended Oustau de Baumaniere to others and look forward to returning.

Mauvaise expériencePosted Mar 16, 2015 on Hotels

Excellent suitePosted Sep 27, 2014 on Hotels
suite design is great with the mix of tasteful design blending in the natural environment. Location is also excellent as it's right next to the sites to visit. Restaurant is superb - remember to try the dessert!!

DiningPosted Jun 23, 2014 on Hotels
In the Baumaniere dining room, service was unexpedly inattentive, cuisine and wine questions went unanswered on several occasions. This was not the case in the Cabro d'Or dining room where service and cuisine were top-notch. I fear the loss of a Michelin Star at the Oustau if our experience is widely shared.

Relaxing hotelPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable bed, lovely room, nice patio, and excellent gift shop.
Cons: We thought the restaurant was overpriced and too formal. Also, the pool was undergoing repair and not available at our stay.
We liked the fact that we could walk (10 minutes) to visit the Chateau de Les Baux. Also, we had a pretty view at night from our patio showing the hateu lighted. Good parking, great bathroom, with a tub looking over the pool./
