Exceptional, but not perfect

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: There were thoughtful details throughout--bathrobes, slippers, corkscrew, wineglasses, leather coasters, towels washed w/ scented fabric softener, etc.
Cons: Availability of staff, pool, and cleanliness. The front-desk staff seemed to want to help, but then again were a bit conceited and standoffish, too.
Location: The hotel was within walking distance to the public entry to the beach. It's located on a street that is actually fairly loud at times.
The staff were pretty good, the suite was simply stunning at first glance and almost perfect. The TV in the bedroom didn't work, and we could never get someone on the phone to correct the problem. The floors in the room were tile, so we walked barefoot most of the time we were in the room. I was surprised when I sat down and our feet were black. The floor hid the dirt well, but was clearly dirty. The shower in the front bathroom had a clogged drain. When these things were brought to the staff's attention, they did not offer any sort of anything to make amends--not that I was looking for them to, but it would've been nice. Plus, the pool--it's a joke. Why even bother? I expected a bit more for as much as the suite cost. The first day we were there, the pool was closed. The sit-down breakfast was definitely a very nice touch. The coffee was incredible! We enjoyed it immensely. The rooftop restaurant--no. Don't waste your money. The food was good, the view was GREAT, BUT we waited for 2 HOURS for our food, and our waiter was a bit rude. The live music was wonderful, but I really believe we could have gotten a much better meal elsewhere for a lot less. Parking was not a problem. We were worried it would be, but it wasn't. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, but given the cost, I expected perfection. It was close, but not quite there.

Across street from beach. Loved St Simons!

Loved the location of hotel and size and comfort of room. Was not happy with amount of dishes, pans/pots in unit. We only had one frying pan and not many utensils. No sharp knife. We did ask for another pan and got another fry pan. The fitness center was not in order which was a disappointment. The staff was very pleasant and breakfast that was included was delicious. Parking was convenient and bikes and beach chairs were provided. Overall, a very nice stay!

Pros: Mediterranean style rooms, 2 bathrooms, gorgeous decor with fine furniture. Not good for kids. Adults who have traveled and enjoy the finer things....
Cons: Had a noisy air conditioner in master BR, needed manintenance. Otherwise enjoyed our stay.
Location: St.Simons alwaays has things to do. The Hotel is across from the beach, but access is easy.
Fantastic for a couples getaway!! Especially for honeymoon, or anniversary! Lovely rooms, delicioius meals. Staff exceptional.

The staff was both friendly and professional. The location was perfect. The room was very large but dark so it felt a bit gloomy.

Nice boutique hotel experience

Posted Jan 21, 2017
Stayed 1 night on my birthday. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Provided a complimentary upgrade to a higher floor, allowed us to check in several hours early. Suite was large and very nicely decorated, and food and service in the on-location restaurant was lovely. We did have a nice view of the ocean from our end unit, but be forewarned that many units will have ocean view blocked by large houses - only caveat. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
