Decent hotel next to noisy airport

Pros: Beachfront and every room has a balcony.
Cons: Front desk staff and hotel condition
Location: Hotel is about 2 minutes from the airport and downtown is about 10 minutes. 20-30 minute trip will get you the ferry to visit St. John (a must).
When we first walked in the lobby the lady at the front desk looked at us and walked away, then came back after a couple of minutes and said "give me a second". Not the warmest welcome after flying 8 hours on 2 planes to get here. After another couple of minutes a gentlemen helped us and then told us that our room will not available for a couple of hours. Ugh! So we went to their bar/restaurant area, which was actually nice and on the beach. This helped us relax a bit. The room was just decent but was pleasantly surprised that it had a balcony with a beautiful view of the bay. We went outside to enjoy the scenery, however, one of the patio chairs was completely broken. After 2 phone calls to the front desk and 2 hours later, we finally got a new chair. We were starting to realize that the folks at the front desk are not that friendly or willing to help their guests. Bathroom sink and toilet were upgraded and nice, but paint was coming off the ceiling and had started to mold. There was only one towel for my husband and I (yet another call to the front desk) and not to mention that we discovered not 1 but 2 elephant-sized cockroaches at separate occasions (eek!). Fitness room was small and every time we went, there were no towels available and water dispenser was always empty. We did enjoy the food and the restaurant and bar. There is no room service but you can order the food to go. At least the restaurant and bar staff were extremely nice.

The Emerald resort was beautiful,

Pros: the views from our balcony the dinning area was nice and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: cracks in the bathroom
Location: The best location we seen on the island
loved every minute of our stay, the food was pricey but the views were gorgeous. Some of the front staff were not so friendly.

Bad hotel just near airport

Very bad expérience.. 35 minutes only for check in,mistake on the asked room ,mistake on the prepayment, Restaurant with very poor food and service , Room old and sad, All the hotel needs a big renovation!!

Convenient, But Tired

The staff were very accommodating. Shuttle to the airport was great. They let us park our car at the hotel for our entire trip (9 days) for no charge. All of that was excellent. Hotel itself is a little tired. Funny smell in our room and one of the smaller Courtyard rooms I've ever had. We were looking for price and convenience. This had both. We were willing to sacrifice a little for those things.

Dear Emerald Beach Team: Doesn’t the Emerald Beach Saint Thomas have any type of standards for quality control? I had the misfortune of staying at your hotel on December 29th 2015.It was a family Christmas vacation and the reason I call it a misfortune is because of the sanitary conditions of my room along with quality of this hotel along with Customer Service.. I do not consider myself a fussy person, but room I encountered when we checked in was appalling to say the least.- Had to wait over 4 hours to get an extra towel- For a family of 4 having no beach towels or shower towels is very inconvenient. We were staying on a vacation- not looking for a campsite- If you need to bring your own towels/ wash cloth and toilet paper. The room smelled so must, bath tub didn’t work so had to give my toddler a shower- ( very unpleasant) , also had bugs in the room and shower- we all have bed bites from the uncleanliness. I have stayed at many Hilton, Best Western, and Marriott properties with my family before and decided to try this resort but this hotel was nothing close to any standard nor welcoming or accommodating. There were not The safety was very questionable to us- we had to put a chair under the door at night just to try to get some rest- The room had dust on all furniture, and we smelled smoke from other guests that was not at all acceptable considering it should be something most resorts would restrict especially if this was an illegal substance.

Good Money Wasted

This place should be shut down-we paid so much and got so little!! The ceiling was covered with dust and black mold- we battled mosquitos all night. The pillows came in one size- super extra large and rock hard, and the sheets felt damp and clammy-we hope they were actually washed and clean for our visit. The little mats beside our bed where dirty, and we wondered how much "stuff" was spilled and caked onto them- we wore our shoes whenever we could. The air handling system- which seemed to be the source of our nocturnal aerial insect assault, blew cold air on us when it was on. The workmanship of the "renovated" hotel was pathetic to say the least, the holes where the sinks go were cut out too big and the fix looked horrible. The grouting on the shower looks as if it was applied by a blind man, the toilet seat was not aligned. None of the furniture was new. Outside of the hotel, near the 4th building, the old, used up, plastic patio chairs were stacked up, but these fit in fine with the other trash/garbage strewn about the "resort." No one was in the pool (not sure why)-could have been the beach, but who knows-didn't want to chance getting a water bourn disease. While the check in process was slow (about 20 min with no line!), the girls were polite and friendly. The restaurant was ok-again, no issues with the staff - the restaurant manager and the wait staff did a fine job. The food was good, but the place was inundated with flies.

Convenient to the Airport and Town

Pros: Free Wi-Fi.Hotel Lobby Computer- printing boarding passes &looking up sightseeing. Pool. Beautiful Beach. Scallop Po'Boy @convenient restaurant.
Cons: Making sure everything in working order. Making sure of security.
Location: Very near the airport. Convenient to Charlotte Amalie for sightseeing and duty free shopping.
A comfortable hotel and convenient to the airport and town. Front Desk Staff very helpful and friendly. The convenience of Free Wi-Fi, Lobby Computer, the pool, beach, and restaurant were great. View is great. Nice there was a Gift Shop. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Towels were nice quality. We were there on a Saturday night, so the music and the commraderie at the bar went on past midnight - a distraction to be able to sleep. The room phone did not work, which became a security issue when there was an altercation outside our door in the middle of the night and we could not call the front desk... But even with those problems, the overall stay was OK.

Emerald Beach resort - December 2015

Pros: Location, rooms, service, beach
Cons: There is nothing within walking distance and the hotel does not provide shuttle services.
Location: I rented a car, so going downtown or traveling around island was not a problem
One of the best beaches on the island; close to the airport and to the downtown/port area. Does not require driving on the crazy mountain roads needed to get to other beaches. Plain do not take off/land during night so the sound of them taking off does not disturb the night sleep; watching plains take off was a bonus for me. Staff is very friendly and courteous; rooms are clean and comfortable; each room faces the ocean. Restaurant is good and there is enough variety for 7 days stay. Overall it was a very positive experience. I recommend to rent a car; parking at the hotel is free and bus service is irregular; there is nothing within walking distance so it is either a car or a taxi.

Just stayed one night but the food was good, the beach awesome.
