Amazing Hotel

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Love the location, close to attractions and shopping via taxi. The staff was very nice they checked us in before the actual time. Room was huge and with an amazing Charlotte Amalie view, got to see two cruise ships arriving in the morning. Love the beach and pool. Excellent and relaxing hotel, this was our second stay definitely will be back.

The AMAZING view is its saving grace!

Pros: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.
Cons: Customer service
When I arrived I was doubled charged for my room. Was not told about a $100 per night hold placed on my account (for room service). Luckily, I had a copy of my reservation from Expedia to confirm the price. I worked with the best member of the hotel, JUAN!!! He fixed my reservation, spoke directly to my bank to reverse the charges and gave me a day pass at the spa for my troubles! The beaches and pools were beautiful. The restaurants were okay but VERY EXPENSIVE (not worth the money at all)! The only day we allowed for our room to be cleaned a bottle of rum we bought from town was stolen! I was given a pass for one day of the $45 resort fee. Overall, we had a GREAT trip but, too many hick ups for me to fully enjoy my time at the hotel. Because of its location I would go again, HOWEVER, I will be more aware of pricing as well as not allow my room to be cleaned.

Not what you expect from a Marriott.

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: The restaurant staff that served breakfast at Aqua Terra
Cons: Virtually everything. Starting with improving the quality of management and staff, repairing all of the areas with deferred maintenance, then cleaning
Location: Junk shopping Downtown extremely filthy and did not feel safe.
The hotel itself felt very "tired." The interior and exterior needed a major cleaning, fresh paint, debris removed, plants pruned and lattice around the bottom floor replaced. Major sections had fallen off and was left as is for quite some time. Worst looking Marriott I have ever seen. The elevator shaft stunk like hot feces the entire time we were there. 90% of the staff, including management, could care less about the quality of the experience for their guests. More than 50% were downright rude. Most of the staff appeared to be just going through the motions and were very nonchalant. Food and drinks were WAY overpriced and lacked in quality and portion size.

The hotel is a great deal for anyone staying in the VI on the off season. The hotel was still packed then (so there was still a lot going on). Furthermore, the hotel was able to help us plan all the VI excursions we wanted, so we didn't have to worry about doing that on our own.

Nice, safe hotel

I liked the hotel and the cove beach. The only negative thing I can say about the hotel is the price of the food was very high and not good food and there was a $45 fee they asked us to pay every day for water, towels, and activity supplies that we only actually used one day but cost us $270. Ended up buying our own gear so we didn't have to turn their gear in by 430 daily.

Beautiful resort on the water with great views!

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: It's a beautiful property and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has beautiful views, a great beach, and delicious food!
Cons: The patio tile around the pool is dangerously slippery when wet (which is all of the time). The pool drinks were really expensive!
Location: Great location! It has it's own beach which is great! Close to everything. Just a few minutes drive to town or about 15 minutes to Red Hook ferry.
We stayed 4 nights and we didn't want to leave. We loved this hotel because of the beautiful views, great beach, delicious food in the restaurants (their fish tacos were the best I've ever had!), centralized location, and lots of activities to choose from right from the hotel. There were 11 of us in our group and we all had a fantastic stay at The Marriott Frenchman's Reef! We will definitely stay here again!

This hotel served as the venue for my son's wedding and everything was spectacular! The rooms were extra cozy, spacious, and squeaky clean every morning! Many thanks to Marriott!

Nice location and view

Posted Aug 14, 2015
Pros: I liked the view. Really beautiful spot. I liked the Catamaran people, the Cat crew was really great!
Cons: The list would be too long. Attitude, stop being lazy, start caring, upgrade the furniture, clean the balcony, lower the food prices!
The hotel is beautiful given its location but it needs some work to be at true Marriott status. The staff, from check in and greeting personnel, to cleaning people, do not care about the clients: they do not move a finger to help you with anything. Terrible service! We made a reservation for 3people, needing 2 beds. I called the hotel 2 days before check in to make sure we have the 2beds, they said yes, we got there and we had one bed. This was the first night. The next day we had to check out at 10 and waited in the hotel lobby until 3pm when they finally got a 2beds room ready or us. They wasted half of day of vacation for us but nobody cared. My father has some heart problems and needed to rest and lay down, but we had no room. They said they were checking with the cleaning people and they did not bother to come and update us on anything. Marriott should hire people that want to work. It's a shame to keep all those lazy, indifferent people in jobs like these! It does Marriott an injustice. The food prices are outrageous on the property and the food is mediocre.
