Pampered experience; lacks "it" factor.Posted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: Really, it was a fun and relaxing treat - everything is great. An immaculate property centered amidst a humble island setting.
Cons: Missing the "it" factor and the joy of discovering something new and different that you get around the rest of the island.
Location: Red Hook has great local dinner options and night life (bars off the marina) that is way more fun than the 9pm bedtime crowd at the RC.
We splurged during hurricane season and spent two nights at the RC St. Thomas after spending 4 nights near Frenchman's Bay (Villa Marbella Suites) on the island. This is an awesome property: great views, service, amenities, pools, bar and eating options, and beautiful grounds/impeccable rooms. We felt pampered the moment we arrived (welcome rum punch or flavored water to cool you down, and friendly valets), were allowed to change and lounge by the pool while our room was getting ready after check-in. Resort fees included use of a great workout facility, snorkel gear, kayaks, paddleboards, but there were additional charges for use of any sailing equipment. If we had unlimited funds, I could easily settle into purchasing the $5 bagel and $7 coffee for bfast, $19 salad for lunch, or rounds of $15 specialty, frozen cocktail drink of the day. Honestly, the patrons vary from young professionals or newly weds splurging for a treat, to families with babies or college-aged kids, to business travelers, and to obnoxious wealthy people who will never be happy even with views like this. We ended up eating dinner in Red Hook with the locals and other tourists near the Marina both nights (Fish Tails & XO are a must) to save $$. The rooms are great with beautiful views of Great Bay and private balconies, wonderful minimalist art, comfy chairs and beds, etc. The bathroom was my favorite part (marble and glass; great double sinks; wonderful bath products)!

Beautiful hotel, awesome staff.Posted Aug 25, 2015
We loved the hotel. The costumer service was the best we ever had. Be careful w the stairs leaving from the rooms going to the pool/beach, they get very slippery. I fell down them while carrying my one year old and hurt my elbow pretty bad. Other then that was a beautiful stay.

Nice property that's clean with up to date rooms. Mosquitoes are abundant but repellant provided in the room. Food prices are steep and resturaunt hours are limited this time of year. A market close by was where we shopped for food and drinks

St Thomas Visit - August 2015Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Housekeeping staff was great - Johnny who took us to our room the first day was great and very helpful - views are fantastic
Cons: Prices of food - charging for resort fee when not actually at the resort and knowing who is in the room and to prepare accordingly
Location: Went to St Johns twice by ferry - went to Coral World which was fun
Overall the views and the hotel was great - have issues with a bad back kinda hard walking up / down the stairs regularly to get to the 3rd floor. We had 2 adults and a 13 year old in the room - never had sheets on the pull out until the last night. The hotel was totally unaware that we had a minor in the room and did not even leave a water for him the day we departed. The $ 65 per day resort fee is a bit high especially when you were not on the resort for 2 days . The food is exorbantly high - ate at the beach one day and chalk board showed hamburgers at $ 9 yet when we got the bill they were $ 20 each and then we got billed $ 56 for alcohol which we later had removed as we do not drink. In the eateries at the hotel many of the wait staff acted like they were put out by having to serve us

Ritz Carlton delivers on excellent customer servicPosted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: Very clean property, great for families.
Cons: *Food* Please season the food! Chefs, don't be afraid to cook!
Location: You will have to take a taxi to get to the nearest shopping center. Ride into Charlotee Amalie to visit Royal Dane Mall and Gladys Cafe.
This Ritz Carlton property sits higher up on a hill and it is a daily walk down to the beach, the pool and then a walk back up to your room and the main lobby for taxi service. This was fine with me; a great opportunity for excerise. *Food* Fair to o.k. The food at the Bleuwater was fair. The food had no seasoning. We dined there for dinner and breakfast. Not impressed with any of the menu items. The lunch at Sails was also not very appetizing for the price. The Zest frozen yogurt tasted like frozen unflavored ice. The best meal was at Essenza. The italian fare was delicious and the Limoncello was very good. Although reservations were recommended, we were always seated immediately. Please allow the chefs to cook and season the food. I was disappointed that there was not an option of prepared meals that could be chosen, such as a variety of sandwiches, salads, and deserts, from an a la carte menu. Although there was not a long area to take a walk on the beach, the choice of equipment for water sports was great. The room was very clean with a beautiful bathroom. *Bedding* Too hot. Consider using a lighter comforter for the summer.

Beautiful hotel with amaizing staff.Posted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: The service is the best.
Location: The hotel is on the beach. Close to Redhook marina, and local nightlife.
This place is amaizing. There is nothing they would not do for you. I wanted keylime pie at 11pm and it was not on the menu. Well at 11:15pm they found me a piece of keylime pie.

Beautiful views, Great food, very relaxingPosted Jul 31, 2015
Just recently stayed at the hotel. Beautiful location and very friendly staff. We were very pleased with everything except for the service on the beach and especially the SAILS restaurant in general. I get it, its the Ritz and everything is very expensive. Truly did not mind spending the money but the service was abysmal. Honestly the slowest moving restaurant we have ever been too. I would highly recommend the staff be revamped asap at this restaurant. Everything else was amazing. Would absolutely go back.

Excellent service with hidden feesPosted Jul 23, 2015
Almost everything was great from friendly staff to amazing beach, however I was turned off by the hidden fees when it was time to check out. They don't tell you anything when you check in or at least what to expect. I asked to speak to a Manager and I was pretty much told, it is what it is.
